Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 1

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable, please try again later..."

The call sounded for the millionth time as Lindsey Juhl squatted by the roadside helplessly, clutching her phone.

Lindsey turned her head to look at the Guggenheim Tower behind her and thought about the words her mother said over the phone this morning, “If you can't get Zayn Guggenheim to help us, you will be disowned from the Juhl family!”

In the end, Lindsey strode in the office tower with gritted teeth.

"Miss, may I ask who you are looking for?"

"I'm looking for Zayn Guggenheim."

"President Guggenheim?"

The receptionist looked at the visitor with a professional smile on her face and continued, "Do you have an appointment?"

Lindsey pressed her lips together and said hesitantly, "...I'm his wife."

The receptionist froze and asked her to wait for a moment as she made a call using the desk phone.

Lindsey Juhl was a little nervous -- ever since the Juhl family forced Zayn to marry her three years ago due to their relationship with his grandfather, all he had felt for her was disgust!

Marrying her ruined his chance to be with his true love!

During these two years of marriage, they had only met a few times when they visited Zayn’s grandfather at the mansion. Aside from that, Zayn avoided her as much as he could.

"Sorry, President Guggenheim said he doesn't have a wife."

The receptionist's voice pulled Lindsey Juhl back to reality.

Lindsey's face instantly turned red with embarrassment as she stuttered, "Sorry, my mistake. I just have something urgent for him. Can you let me see him for a moment? I won't be long..."

"Sorry, I’m afraid I can’t let you up without an appointment. I hope you understand."

The surrounding people kept looking over as if laughing at her foolishness for posing as the president's wife. Their mocking gazes were like daggers piercing through her, making her so embarrassed that she could not lift her head.
