“Our first place winner has been decided—everyone’s been waiting for this moment. With the champion announced, our competition finally comes to an end…”
“Let’s welcome all four teams to the stage!”
As soon as the host finished speaking, the four teams made their way up, one after another. The Kidds and the Gregorys hadn’t come expecting any glory; they just wanted to finish things out and go home. Compared to Country M and International Glam, their chances were basically zero.
Esther was the only one who couldn’t relax. She kept her eyes glued to the giant screen in front of her, barely even blinking.
The tension in the room was almost unbearable. The host fiddled with the card in his hand, lifted the mic, and announced, “And the winner of our final round is… International Glam! Their score blew the other three teams out of the water, and their overall ranking puts them solidly in first place!”
The livestream chat exploded instantly.
Wait, hadn’t everyone given Fiona’s designs the lowest scores? Wasn’t Esther supposed to have the highest votes?
Hold on—did that mean the famous ‘Winter Rose’ dress was actually designed by Fiona?
Everyone was stunned. Somehow, they’d just handed Fiona the top prize without even realizing it.
Nobody could accept it. Fiona had won first place, and it was all thanks to them.
The host kept going, “International Glam’s talent is obvious to everyone. They really earned this win.”
The award ceremony started. International Glam got the gold trophy. Country M got silver. The other two teams? They went home empty-handed.
Once the group photo was snapped, the teams quickly left the stage. The organizer stepped up, took the mic, and gave a brief recap of the competition. Then he glanced at the people managing the big screen and turned to the camera.
“This year, one of our contestants was poisoned during the event. As the organizer, I owe everyone an explanation.”
