Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1946

The girl who’d been arguing just moments ago had already disappeared—no one had a clue where she’d gone.

...

In Fiona’s room, she lounged with her head in Jackson’s lap while he fed her grape after grape, each one bright, crisp, and sweet.

“So you’re really planning to get on stage tomorrow?” Jackson asked.

Fiona nodded, her mouth too full to answer clearly. Winning first place wasn’t her only goal for tomorrow—she had another mission, too.

She needed to get to the bottom of why so many contestants were suddenly getting sick, and it was about time the organizers quit pretending nothing was wrong. They couldn’t just keep sweeping it under the rug.

“Tomorrow’s the last round,” Jackson said. “If Woods Corporation isn’t going for the win, International Glam definitely is.” Fiona shot him a sly smile. “Although, I have to say, the girls you brought this time aren’t exactly easy to beat.”

Jackson could hear the teasing in her voice, but he didn’t get worked up. Instead, he helped Fiona sit up and grinned. “Let them give it their best shot. If they want a place on the podium, they’ll have to fight for it. None of them can touch you.”

“At least you know your limits,” Fiona laughed, her eyes crinkling with amusement.

Jackson gave her a playful look, scooped her up, and carried her to bed, switching off the lights behind them.

The next morning, as Jackson was sneaking out of Fiona’s room, he nearly crashed into Jane, who was out for her early run.

He hadn’t meant to oversleep, but here he was.

Jane instantly stepped in front of him, arms crossed, eyes blazing.

“Mr. Woods, your room isn’t even on this floor, is it?” she said, looking him up and down.
