Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1937

Fiona sat back in her chair, belly full and satisfied, absently scrolling through her phone. Her fingers flew across the screen, tapping away so fast it was like she was in some kind of showdown.

There were only a couple of dishes on the table she actually liked, but that didn’t bother her. She glanced at the new message from Tyler and let a sly smile tug at her lips.

Hook, line, and sinker.

She was about to stash her phone when she noticed the little “typing…” bubble in Tyler’s chat window. Seriously, what was this guy up to?

Whatever. She couldn’t be bothered. Fiona snapped her phone shut.

Right at that moment, a message from Tyler popped up—then vanished almost immediately.

Tyler: Nash came to see me today.

If she’d seen that, no doubt she’d have grilled him for details, then gone straight to Jackson for the whole story.

“Mr. Woods, Ms. Fiona, I’ve always heard you two are the perfect match. So, when are we going to get an invite to your wedding?” The host’s booming voice broke the awkward silence. He raised his glass, grinning.

“Let me toast you both! I’ll drink mine straight down, you two can take it easy—no pressure.”

This dinner wasn’t just about food. The host was hoping to score big by getting closer to Jackson and Fiona. One was from the main branch of the Woods family, the other from the well-known Stonnell family. They weren’t people you could just compare to anybody else.

A single deal with either of them would be enough to keep him comfortable for years.

The guests from Country M all looked confused and, almost in sync, turned to Amy.

Since when were Jackson and Fiona a thing?

Amy had made it crystal clear to them: Jackson was about to get engaged to someone from the Gregory family. That’s why she’d felt so confident mouthing off to Fiona earlier.

Now what was going on?
