Jackson's gaze was cold but curious. "Looks like Wyatt's thinking of selling his shares."
With a sharp crack, a slap landed on Pearl's face, leaving her shaken and barely able to stand, blood trickling from her lip.
"How dare you talk trash about Ms. Fiona? You're really asking for it!" Wyatt shot a fierce glare at Pearl before rushing over to Jackson, trying to smooth things over with a forced smile. "Mr. Woods, it's not what it looks like. She's just a naive girl, doesn't know any better. I hope you and Ms. Fiona can forgive her."
Before Jackson could say anything, Fiona glanced down, her smile dripping with disdain. "And what if I don't feel like forgiving?"
Wyatt was taken aback by Fiona's bluntness. Even though his daughter had tried to stop her at the door, he thought he'd handled it by disciplining Pearl hard. That slap was no joke; Pearl had always been his little princess, pampered and never touched.
Still, considering Fiona's status and why she was there, he couldn't really stand his ground and argue. It was his daughter's mess, after all.
"Ms. Fiona, my daughter is spoiled at home and said things she shouldn't have. I apologize on her behalf."
Pearl, shaking off her daze, was alarmed when she heard the woman's last name. She quickly turned to Fiona. "You're not Ms. Shen?"
"My mother is Flora," Fiona replied with a smile.
Pearl was floored.
Not recognizing Fiona was one thing, but everyone knew Flora's name—a legendary figure, the genius lady of the Stonnell family.
"Fiona, let's get out of here," Jackson chimed in.
He didn't want to waste any more time and was eager to wrap things up so he could have some alone time with Fiona.
Fiona? Her name wasn't Shen Fiona; it was Fiona Stonnell!
If Fiona hadn't stopped him, he would've slapped someone himself downstairs.
"Nash..."
"Don't even think about it. I'll be keeping an eye on you. Not a minute less."
Wyatt hesitated but ultimately left his daughter of twenty years, heading toward the conference room.
Inside, Fiona instructed Tyler to distribute files to everyone present. They contained the official patent application for her designs, including those given to the Bryant family.
"Each of you has a patent report in hand, enough to quash any plagiarism talk."
Fiona sat at the head of the table, legs crossed, hand resting on the table. She gave Tyler a nod, signaling it was his turn to take the floor and introduce himself.
