Turning around, Fiona quickly tucked her weapon back into her waist and shot C a quick grin. "Let's head out. We're meeting the head honcho of Sector F."
As she strolled into Sector F, nobody bothered to stop her. Jasmine had already paved the way, leaving Fiona with just one task: track down Jackson.
C was a bit taken aback by the warm welcome. It's not every day you get a red carpet rolled out in someone else's territory, especially in a place where might is right.
In no time, Fiona was face-to-face with Alex, the head of Sector F. He'd changed so much since their childhood days that she almost didn't recognize him.
"Fiona!" Alex hopped up from his chair and hurried over, just like the old days. "Jasmine's filled me in on your situation. I've got my people digging into it. We should know something soon."
Fiona gave a nod, "Heard anything about any turf wars or business deals gone sour lately?"
Alex seemed to remember something, nodding quickly. "Yeah, there’s been chatter about developing the northwestern suburbs, but it's been crickets for a while. Lately, the buzz is it's turning into an industrial zone, but who knows if that's for real."
Fiona didn't waste a second and called Nash, convinced Jackson's dealings here were no coincidence. She needed Nash to dig into Woods Corporation to figure out what project Jackson was mixed up in.
Hearing Kimberly was safe relaxed Nash a bit, and he moved fast. Rarely did anyone get the scoop on Jackson’s deals, but this time, by chance or oversight, Nash found a copy of a contract on Jackson’s desk. He scanned it and sent it over to Fiona.
