Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1683

Hearing this, Scott's face changed, clearly riled up by Kimberly's words. In a flash, he was on his feet, making his way over to where Kimberly and Fiona were seated.

"You've got a way to get me back with the main branch of the Woods family?" he asked.

"I did, a second ago," Kimberly replied with a sudden smile, her eyes icy cold. A smirk curled on her lips as she added, "But not anymore."

When Kimberly mentioned she had a plan to help him return to the main branch of the Woods family, Scott's face lit up with hope. But her last five words knocked him off balance.

He would give anything to get back his spot in the main branch. His years in the Capital had been nothing but frustrating; all ambition and no outlet, a huge blow to his pride. And to top it off, the Capital seemed like nothing compared to the States in his eyes.

Turning to Fiona, he said, "Ms. Fiona, I was wrong to doubt you. Please, don't take it to heart."

"It's alright," Fiona replied with a gentle smile, her eyes measuring him.

Scott sure had a way with words, able to adapt and bend—a man who could achieve great things.

After Scott apologized to Fiona, Kimberly visibly relaxed. Before, her face might as well have had "I'm not happy" written all over it.

"Let's dig in," she said.

After dinner, Jackson drove Fiona back to her school. She had classes early the next morning, and it was getting pretty late. Plus, Fiona loved her sleep, and she’d definitely be late if she didn't get enough rest.

Besides, Jackson had been swamped with work lately. He had an early flight the next morning to negotiate a business deal overseas.
