"Okay," Fiona said, though she was dying to ask about the mysterious death of the Woods family's fourth son. But she held back; some questions were better left unasked, especially since her position in the family wasn't solid enough yet.
Even though she and Jackson had finally broken the ice, the Woods family's affairs were way above her pay grade, especially when it came to Jackson's parents.
"Hey, isn't June still at the church? Aren't you going to check on her?" Fiona asked.
"She knows what she's doing; everything will be sorted out," Jackson replied, dodging the question.
He stayed clear of the church because he was afraid he might snap and do something drastic. If that happened, the whole Capital branch of the Woods family might face serious consequences.
Fiona crashed on the couch and was out like a light, probably because she hadn’t been sleeping well lately.
Jackson settled back in his chair, mulling over news that Erica's parents had hightailed it overseas, where they were badmouthing Allen. They'd even put out a video claiming they left Erica behind because they had no choice, insisting they couldn't take her with them. After all, who wants to leave their home unless they have to?
They were playing the media like a fiddle. It was clear this was more than just a vendetta against the Capital branch; it was a direct hit aimed at Jackson and Kimberly.
