"Get lost!" Jackson barked, shooting Nash a glare so intense it could’ve melted ice. Nash scampered off like a scared rabbit.
"Hey, big brother," Fiona called out, her eyes sparkling with admiration for Jackson. It was like seeing him brought her to life.
"Fiona, come here." Jackson waved her over, a warm smile playing on his lips. He gently ruffled her hair. "What took you so long today? Did those pompous fools at school keep you back to lecture other students again?"
Fiona shook her head, climbed into the car, and motioned for Jackson to join her. Once they were settled inside, she handed him a stack of papers.
"Big brother, here's the latest scoop I got from Jasmine. Take a look."
Jackson noticed Fiona's serious demeanor and knew it was something big. He took her phone and quickly spotted the alarming news.
The document on Fiona’s phone revealed that Zoe had died overseas. Worse yet, the Larkin family’s patriarch had ordered her remains tossed aside, barring her from the family mausoleum.
There was also some old scandal involving the Woods family from way back. Fiona hadn’t dug into that part—she wasn’t one to snoop into people’s secrets.
Jackson finished reading in no time, but the information was staggering, even for him.
"How did Jasmine dig this up?" he asked.
Fiona pondered for a moment. "The Bryant family’s got serious clout in the States. I bet Jasmine pulled some strings with the matriarch on my behalf."
Jackson took a deep breath and let out a long sigh. No wonder Jasmine had unearthed these decades-old secrets.
