Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1648

Fiona wasn't bothered by all the background noise; her mind was glued to her phone, watching the minutes crawl by. Why did today feel like it was dragging on forever? Just the thought of seeing Jackson made her lips curl into a smile.

Before long, a friend request popped up on her phone—from Yvenne. The next round of the designer competition was just around the corner, and Yvenne was really hoping Fiona would drop out voluntarily. After Fiona snagged first place in the preliminaries, her popularity shot through the roof, almost outshining Hannah's. Still, there were whispers that if Hannah hadn't bailed on the first round, Fiona wouldn’t have come out on top.

Fiona's fans were rooting for her all the way, but she knew it was just a drop in the bucket. She was focused on the real prize. Plus, she could see things clearly now. She knew she’d stirred the pot at Jackson and Zoe's engagement bash. The chaos and Zoe's scandals didn’t just happen by chance.

But Fiona had no intention of accepting Yvenne's friend request. She declined it without a second thought. She knew exactly why Yvenne was reaching out.

"Fiona, can we have a quick chat?" Yvenne asked, mustering the courage to approach her. "Just a few minutes, please?"

Fiona didn’t budge, her brow furrowing as she tried to keep her cool. "I'll be waiting by the stairs."

"Sorry, I’m not interested in getting tangled up in more drama," Fiona replied firmly.

She turned on her heel and left the school. There were only three minutes left until the end of study hall, and her brother was already waiting at the school gate. She needed to catch up with him first.

Out of nowhere, Yvenne grabbed her arm, holding on tight. "I really need to talk to you."

"Let go!" Fiona snapped, shaking her arm free.

She’d been waiting all day to see her brother and wasn’t about to let anyone stop her.

"Ouch!!! My hand, it hurts so much!" Yvenne cried out as her hand slammed against the wall, a sharp screw digging into her finger. Blood started to flow, and she fainted from the pain.

Fiona nodded. She loved the sweet tips of strawberries but found the bottoms too tangy and unripe for her liking. Eating them that way felt like a luxury, so she rarely indulged—no one else wanted the less appetizing parts anyway.

"Jackson, where's my milk tea?" Nash asked, walking over quickly.

Jackson handed him a bag with the milk tea inside. "Can you toss that out for me?"

Nash: ??? He regretted coming over.

As soon as they were in the car, Nash started talking about how Yvenne got hurt again, and this time, everyone in their class saw it happen.
