Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1610

Fiona frowned, casting a slightly annoyed glance at the security guard by the door. Since when did the hospital security become so lax, letting just anyone stroll in?

"Ms. Fiona, we're really sorry. It's on us for not having better measures in place," the hospital director stepped forward, apologizing to Fiona before turning to the patient's family. "Please, you need to step out for now. The patient's condition is critical and can't afford any delay."

"You've already messed her up like this, how much worse can it get?" The woman pointed accusingly at Fiona, giving her a once-over before scoffing. "You're relying on this young girl to save lives? This is supposed to be a reputable hospital, and yet here we are in chaos."

"You’re treating life like it’s worthless; this is practically murder! I’ll sue; I’m not letting this slide."

Finding the noise unbearable, Fiona calmly pulled out her phone and called the police. There was no point in trying to explain to these unreasonable folks.

"You ignored medical advice and fed the patient without permission. If not for that, she'd be up and about now," Fiona remarked with an eye roll as she left the room.

Fiona had her own private office, and all she needed to do now was wait for the patient to wake up. As for the others, she couldn't care less.

The police arrived at the hospital quickly. The situation had blown up, drawing media attention, but they were all stopped at the hospital's entrance. Jackson had swapped out all the security for his own bodyguards.

Thanks to Jackson’s help, Fiona finally got to kick back in her chair and quietly play her game.

"The hospital's committing murder! My son was fine when he was brought in, and now look at him! They blame us for feeding him. How can a patient not eat? Officers, arrest them!" The middle-aged woman cried out, calling the young officers "uncle" in a way that made their skin crawl.

"If we had known, we wouldn’t have fed him. We were just worried about his health. Director, could you please ask the police to leave? We promise not to pursue this further."

The director looked hesitantly at Fiona, about to agree, when Fiona glanced at her phone screen in frustration, seeing the word "defeat" glaring back at her.

"A bunch of useless teammates!" she muttered in exasperation. Even a top-tier player couldn’t carry this group of amateurs.

"What did you just say?"

The woman bristled immediately, rushing forward as if she wanted to tear Fiona apart. This little brat dared to call her a pig!
