Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1443

Suddenly, the room felt like a wave of disappointment washed over it. A group of older gentlemen felt their hearts shatter into pieces. How could this be? How could a young woman be so cold and unyielding? Not even allowing a simple message to get through!

With their mournful gazes on her, Fiona casually walked out of the office. Jackson was already waiting for her downstairs. She hurried down the stairs and spotted Jackson standing there, his back turned to her. He was dressed in a sleek black trench coat, falling just below his knees, with one hand casually tucked in his pocket. His presence exuded a commanding aura that caught the attention of everyone passing by, no matter their age or gender.

Wow, she thought. He really is handsome.

Fiona squinted playfully as she strolled up to him, “Hey, big bro!”

Hearing her voice, Jackson turned around. His sharp features, prominent nose, and thin lips gave him a somewhat distant look. But when he saw Fiona, a warm smile appeared in his eyes. He reached out, took the bag off her shoulder to carry it himself, and asked, “How was your day?”

“Eh, it was alright,” Fiona replied nonchalantly. Nothing too thrilling. Those old guys brought out a ton of case studies and nearly drove her nuts. She wasn’t much of a talker, but around family and friends, she could vent like a teenager. Jackson listened quietly, chiming in every now and then.

The path to the hospital was lined with big oak trees, the midday sun casting a gentle and serene glow on everything. But of course, there were always a few who just couldn’t resist stirring up trouble.

Her voice was choked with tears. But Fiona was unmoved. If you can’t handle the consequences, why take the risk in the first place? She wasn’t realizing her mistakes; she was just scared. Such people didn't deserve sympathy.

“Fiona, hop in the car, I’ll deal with this,” Jackson said suddenly, giving her a gentle nudge and opening the passenger door for her. It’s best to keep the young lady away from unpleasantness, so she doesn't get caught up in it. Fiona could handle tricky people, but since Jackson offered, she didn’t argue and obediently got into the car.

Jackson raised the windshield, making sure Fiona couldn’t see outside. Then he calmly turned to the female doctor, speaking slowly, “Miss, why don’t you tell me what really happened between you and my friend here at the hospital?”
