Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1375

I had just seen Nash leading a bunch of ninth-grade boys, looking all fired up, like they were marching straight into a showdown.

"Louise, Nash's been going on about how Fiona's part of their crew in Grade 9, telling everyone to lay off the gossip. He even put a few loose talkers in their place," my desk mate whispered. "Don't you think he's being a bit too protective of Fiona? Watch out, Louise."

I kept quiet, focused on my writing, though my pen dug into the paper a bit harder, leaving a noticeable mark.

"Louise, I think..."

"Don't even start," I shot her a side glance, cutting her off. "Nash is just looking out for his own, that's all."

My classmate, realizing her attempt at gossip was a flop, chuckled awkwardly and zipped it.

Nash was getting closer. I stood up, notebook in hand, and stepped outside to block their path.

"Nash," I called out gently.

"I'm busy right now. Whatever it is, tell me later," Nash replied, clearly irritated.

I bit my lip, hesitating. "Are you heading to Mr. Garcia's office because of the whole Fiona thing?"

"You know and still ask?" Nash's temper flared. He was already hot-headed and my lukewarm comments were just adding fuel to the fire.

If it had been anyone else, he might've thrown a punch.

"Nash, hear me out. Going there won't help; it'll just make things messier. Please, just go back. If Mr. Garcia sees you, he'll just get more riled up."

His harsh tone made me flinch a bit, but I was too stubborn to just let them pass without a word. Their support for Fiona would become the talk of the school, showing everyone she had Nash backing her.

I hesitated, wanting to say more, but Nash's patience was shot. "Move."

Seeing he was really ticked off, I reluctantly stepped aside.

Nash pushed past me without a backward glance, his stride quick and purposeful.

Robert and the others quickly followed.

I lingered there for a moment before heading back into the classroom, only to find everyone at the windows, watching me. As I turned around, they scrambled back to their seats like guilty thieves caught in the act.
