Jonathan flashed a grin at Corbyn and the rest. "I had the kitchen whip up a little extra, thinking folks might not have had dinner yet. Corbyn, if you're up for it, join us. Ms. Flora just joined the Medical Hall, and she'll need your support."
Naturally, this was all Connor's idea. Jonathan wouldn't have been this thoughtful on his own.
Corbyn's mouth was practically watering. The aroma was irresistible!
Compared to this spread, Tara's few dishes seemed downright meager!
"Well, we wouldn't mind at all! Quick, let's push some tables together and get the food set up!" he said with excitement, rubbing his hands and directing the others.
The disciples wasted no time, doing exactly as he instructed.
Dozens of dishes were arranged on the tables, creating a feast for the eyes.
Corbyn and the senior members took their seats, with Flora joining them.
"Tara, darling, why don't you come join us?" Corbyn warmly invited Tara. These dishes were definitely more tempting than hers.
"No thanks..." Tara felt like her heart was doing somersaults. She couldn't figure out why Jonathan would bring food for Flora. As the team leader, only one person could direct him...
Could it be him?
Wasn't he engaged?
"I'm in, I'm in!" Mo Fengliu exclaimed, his appetite piqued by the feast.
"Tara, sweetheart, you enjoy your meal here. I'm heading over there!" He hurriedly grabbed his own meal, not having eaten yet.
"Uncle..." Tara stared in shock as Mo Fengliu missed her expression and made his way to the next table.
Just as he was about to sit down, Flora's cool gaze fixed on him. "This little bit of food probably doesn't even catch your eye, Mr. Mo. Maybe you shouldn't bother."
Mo Fengliu's rear halted mid-air, puzzled by Flora's sudden hostility, before realizing she was miffed about him not sharing Tara's portion earlier.
Was she really that petty?
Flora saw the blushing emoji he sent, her lips curving into a shy smile.
Seeing her ignore him and fiddle with her phone, Mo Fengliu found it amusing.
He gave Flora a thumbs-up: "Alright, you're something else."
Flora lifted her head, giving him a lazy glance. "Yeah, I think so too."
Mo Fengliu: "..."
She really wasn't modest!
For someone so young, she sure had a fiery temper!
In the end, Flora didn't let Mo Fengliu have a single bite. Not one to back down, Mo Fengliu stood next to her, his tall and lean frame casting a looming presence, his devilishly handsome eyes narrowing occasionally as he glanced at her.
