Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1156

Oh wow!

Flora locked her eyes onto Connor, looking like she might just gobble him up. As Connor got closer to the bed, she pounced on him, ready to dive in—

“Mmm…”

“Boss!”

Right then.

Moss's urgent voice rang out from the other side of the door, accompanied by a rapid “knock knock knock.”

Connor had just begun lifting the hem of Flora’s skirt: “…”

“Just ignore him,” Flora muttered, clearly annoyed at the interruption.

They both held their breath, hoping Moss would take the hint and leave. But after a few seconds, the knocking resumed.

“…”

Connor flung the door open, adjusting his collar with a huff: “What do you want?”

Moss and Beck shared a look, surprised to see Connor looking so flustered and aggravated.

What’s up with him?

Why does he seem so... on edge?

Did we just walk in on something we shouldn’t have?

Seems like…

We probably did!

“Uh, boss.” Moss cleared his throat, remembering the urgency of their message. His face grew serious as he laid out everything they'd discovered to Connor.

Connor’s expression shifted to one of deep concern and seriousness.

“A bomb?”

“Yeah, our team found multiple bombs in the medical research facility. Not just a couple, either.”

Those explosives could blow the whole place sky-high.

The facility was home to medical geniuses from all over the globe.

If anything goes wrong, Lone Island would be in hot water.

With the bomb threat still unresolved, staying there was too risky.

Ethan was especially reluctant to leave.

He wanted to stick around a bit longer, to hang out with Flora, and definitely not just to ride on her coattails!

Amanda and Raul didn’t dwell on it; they had come mainly for Flora’s birthday. Now that it was over, and with other matters to attend to, they took off for Lone Island via helicopter after lunch.

Connor had a private jet ready to take Raul and Henrik back to Austenberg.

Once they were all set, Flora and Connor were gearing up to deal with the bombs, but Mike popped up wanting to talk to her, so she headed to meet him first.

On her way, Flora bumped into someone unexpected.

“Sister!”

A young boy jumped out from the bushes, hands tucked behind his back, his eyes crinkling into a smile.

Slowly, he brought his hands forward, revealing a pink gift box, looking a bit bashful.

“Sister, happy birthday.”
