Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2246

Hearing Verna mention her granddaughter, Mrs. James couldn't sit still any longer. "You go ahead with your things; I'll go check on our Kya. She hasn't been eating well these past few days, and Charlie keeps spoiling her. Looks like it's up to me to take care of her."

Verna replied, "I'll go to the kitchen and ask them to make some nutritious porridge especially for Kya."

Mrs. James chuckled, "Just have someone mention it; no need for you to go there in person."

"No way, I have to make sure myself. She's my granddaughter too, after all."

Mrs. James's eyes twinkled with laughter, and with a nod, she turned to look for Kya.

Emily was changing clothes in the dressing room while Charlie waited on the sofa outside with Kya.

As soon as Mrs. James approached, Kya happily scrambled down from the sofa and ran towards her.

"Hey, little rascal, slow down, don't fall!" Mrs. James hurriedly walked a few steps to pick up Kya.

Kya hugged Mrs. James's neck and laughed, showing her dependence on her.

Mrs. James was filled with affection and, looking around, asked Charlie, "Where's Emily?"

"She's changing. You need her for something?" Charlie leaned back on the sofa, his posture relaxed.

Mrs. James sat down next to him, playing with Kya while casually saying, "You know, Josiah already got hitched. What about you? Got any plans?"

Charlie reached for an orange and began to peel it, his voice tinged with helplessness, "I'd like to get married, but Emily doesn't want to. What can I do?"

Charlie grabbed a napkin, wiping his hands methodically, "The one who tied the knot must untie it. Emily's worried about our prejudices against her background. So, who else but you can make her feel secure?"

Without hesitation, Mrs. James responded, "That's easy, I'll find a moment to have a heart-to-heart with Emily."

Charlie lifted Kya into his arms, saying with a smile, "No need to wait, now's your chance! Emily will be out soon. I'll take Kya for a stroll in the garden, and you can talk to Emily here, share what's in your heart."

Mrs. James promptly agreed, "Right, I tied this knot, I'll be the one to untie it."

Charlie nodded, "Whether I can get married before Jonathan next year is up to you now!"

Suddenly, Mrs. James's gaze sharpened as she eyed Charlie, "Why do I feel like you've set another trap for me to fall into?"
