“I had my closure when I learnt that she stole father’s

masculinity and orchestrated everything. You didn’t live

through what I did. For you, she might have been a mother, but

for me, she ruined 7 years of my life. 7 years I’ll never get back.

It might be cruel to say this but to me her death doesn’t even

compensate for what I had lost.“”

There’s another long pause. And then Jayden murmured, “.I

know she regretted what she did. Even for a brief moment.”

“And that’s not my problem anymore. Bury her, Jayden, but

sorry I can’t be there. I’m giving back the phone to Asher.”

I took the phone back from her, “You heard what she said.

Violet didn’t want to be there. And I don’t think you should

push her. For security reasons and for.other reasons.”

There was silence on the other end before Jayden finally

relented. “Fine,” he said quietly and ended the call.

I didn’t blame Jayden. That woman never hurt him so he still

saw her as his mother. But not Violet. Violet had been through

so much because of her. I just wanted to keep my Violet away

from those dark past as far away as possible.

Later that night, once Violet had fallen asleep, I went to Philip’s

quarters to talk about tomorrow’s Alphas meeting. I had

summoned all Alphas to discuss the upcoming war.

“We’re ready for the gathering,” Philip said to me, his voice low.

“I just hope the Alphas are onboard with the idea. We need all

the help we can get. Can’t face Isaac and his magic alone.””

I leaned against the desk, crossing my arms. “I don’t need their

help,” I said bluntly. “I called them here to send a message. This

isn’t about asking for favors. It’s about showing Isaac that he’s

outmatched.”

Philip frowned. “Then why call them at all?”

“To intimidate him,” I said simply. “If Isaac thinks I’m rallying

the Alphas against him, he’ll start to panic. That’s when he’ll

make mistakes. Our Royal Pack and Silver Moon Pack are

strong enough to deal with Isaac, but we need to make him

believe he’s cornered.”

Philip considered my words, nodding slowly. “So this is all for

show“”

“Exactly,” I said. “Isaac has magic on his side, but he’s still a

If he thinks we’ve got the entire wolf community against him,

he’ll act without thinking.”

Philip let out a small grin. “You’ve planned this well, Asher. It’s

impressive how quickly you’ve organized everything.”

“I’m proud of us too. This time we’re not just fighting Isaac-

we’re fighting the council, too. If we don’t take control of the

situation now, we’ll lose everything.”

Philip nodded, “Tomorrow will be a turning point. But I know

we got it.”

The next morning, Violet was up early, carefully laying out my

formal attire. Her movements were quiet, probably because she

didn’t want to wake me.

“Sorry was I too loud?” she heard me sitting up and asked, “Go

back to sleep. There’s still time before the meeting.”

“Come to me babe.”

She climbed back to bed and snuggle into my arms. I kissed her

forehead, “Are you nervous?”

“A bit. yeah. But not afraid. Not as long as you’re with me. What

“No, just excited. Maybe I was born ready for this. Leading,

Her lips curved into a small smile, “This is your first Alpha gathering as King. A big day.“”
