Chapter 47
“Get to the point.” Jalen rubbed his eyebrows and leaned against the sofa, waiting, for
Quincy to speak.
Quincy, who was on the other side of the line, snorted and said, “She’s Elaina Gainsford who grew up in a place called Peach Village in New York. She was a top student. I found out that she skipped grades when she was a kid. She graduated with Ph. D. at the age of 22, and then went abroad to study for two years before returning home,”
Elaina?
Jalen felt that the name sounded so familiar.
But after thinking about it, he could not remember where he had heard it before.
“And then?” Jalen got up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. He looked at the black night sky outside, and no one knew what he was thinking.
“And then?”
“After she
Quincy could not help but raise his voice. He said with some amusement, returned home, she didn’t have a job, and even disappeared. Guess where she went?”
Of course, Jalen could not guess, but he thought that the reason why he could not find Elaina before was that she suddenly disappeared.
“Where did she go?”
“She got married,” Quincy said.
“Get married?” Jalen frowned.
“Yes, I found out that she got a marriage certificate at City Hall,” Quincy replied.
After a while, Quincy did not hear Jalen’s reply and was a little bored. “Don’t you have any reaction when you hear that she’s married?”
“What reaction should I have?” Jalen asked with penetrating eyes.
“Aren’t you disappointed?” Quincy asked him.
Jalen did not answer. He did not know what reaction he should have at that time. Was he
disappointed?
It seemed a little bit. He was just surprised. What kind of man would Elaina marry?
little serious. “This is what I didn’t expect. I couldn’t find out who he was.
“What do you mean?”
“I found out that Elaina was married and divorced, but I couldn’t get any information about that man,” Quincy said.
The atmosphere suddenly became a lot more serious. They both knew what it meant.
If Quincy could not find it out, it meant that man’s identity was not simple, and he might be more powerful than Quincy.
“It seems the identity of that person is not simple.” After a while, Jalen sighed.
It made sense. As a man who could marry a woman like Elaina, he wouldn’t just be an
ordinary person.
“No matter how powerful he is, I can find him one day at most!” Quincy was so curious.
that he was determined to dig it out.
