Falling For My Cruel Mate novel Chapter 52

"Oh my god. This is our favorite part." Siren says, her voice becoming more high pitched and excited.

A moment of silence ensues and I can't hear anything but the music coming from the movie. I open the door silently and sneak into the room to find them both on the edge of their seats. I look up at the movie to find Christian Grey lifting a woman's legs and locking a contraption that kept her legs apart.

"I love that part!" They both yell out in unison, causing me to raise my eyebrows. They hadn't even noticed I walked into the room. I must admit, this was pretty amusing.

"Goddess! He's so hot, I need him." Siren says hopelessly and collapses back into the recliner. She seemed more calm and relaxed even though she prolonged the endangerment of my mate. If I would've known it was Jalex who had come after Octavia in her dreams and threatened her existence in real life I would've have take more cautious protection measures.

"Interesting choice of movie." I say smugly as lean up against the wall. I was eager to question Siren and didn't care if I was interrupting their movie.

I watch as Octavia jumps in her seat and scrambles to grab something. The movie is quickly paused and Siren nearly falls off of her chair trying to switch the lights on. They both stand immediately and turn to face me. Siren shifts her weight uncomfortably and Octavia's cheeks turn a light shade of pink.

"Um-" Octavia says.

"We were just-" Siren points behind them at the screen.

"Well, you came at the good part." Octavia blurts out.

I raise eyebrows even more amused and push myself off of the wall. "Yes, it does seem that way."

Octavia pushes her fingers through her hair nervously as Siren leans over and whispers. "I feel so freaking stupid."

Octavia nods her head timidly, agreeing with Sirens words. She's going to feel even more stupid when she realizes I found out she was withholding information.

"Siren, you have a lot of explaining to do. Octavia and I will meet you in my office in just a few minutes." I give Siren a pointed look and she immediately ducks her head and scurries out of the room leaving me alone with my mate.

Once she's gone I focus my eyes on my gorgeous mate. Her hair was voluminous and messy from her fingers and her forest green eyes darted around the room nervously. To a certain extent I liked that I could make her nervous.

"So this is the good part huh?" I asks, a smirk falling upon my lips.

She wrings her hands together in front of her nervously. "Yup."

"I didn't know you were a fan of..." I trail off looking behind her at the paused screen of Christian Grey kissing up Ana's thigh.

"Is everything okay with Siren?" She says trying to distract me from the movie. I could feel a strong urge to get closer to her. It was as if I didn't touch her I would los my mind.

"Are you sure?"

Why would I lie about such a thing? I want to roll my eyes at her stupid question, but I don't because I know she must be upset that her friend hid such a thing from her.

"I'm sure." I make sure my voice is strong and emotionless.

"I need to talk to her." Octavia shakes her head, clearly upset and confused.

I nod my head in agreement and turn to guide her back up to my office. I make sure to take the lead on the stairs.

The day Sam first met Octavia I remember bringing her back to her room, but since she had managed to get to the stairs first I was stuck looking at her ass the whole time. I mean, yes, I could've looked elsewhere... but she's my mate and her-

I shake the thought of my mates behind from my mind before I get too excited and have to excuse myself. It's a very nice ass.

We walked the length of the hall in silence. I didn't really know what to say. I never know what to say. Our relationship, if you could even call it that, is so strained and complicated.

I open the door to my office and find Siren sitting in one of the chairs in front my desk. Octavia takes a seat next to her and I pull my chair up into its original position since I had knocked it down earlier.
