Falling For My Contractual Wife (Brian and Grace) novel Chapter 788

"Justin, why did you ask me to pretend to be your girlfriend?" Serena rested her elbow on the car window and looked at him.

"Because I remember you once told me you have someone you like." Justin smiled.

Serena's eyes gradually became empty.

She remembered her senior year, sitting on the playground steps with Justin, drinking beer and talking about the future.

"Justin. The school allowed me to go to Soofareland for postgraduate studies and study acute leukemia." When Serena said this, she looked a little melancholic.

"This is a good thing." Justin leaned against the steps and raised the bottle to clink with her.

"What's wrong? You don't want to go?" Justin asked.

Serena looked at him and said, "I'm afraid I'll be gone for ten years if I go."

Justin nodded and took a sip of wine. He analyzed the benefits of her going to graduate school. In the end, he asked, "What are your concerns?"

She looked at him for a long time, then picked up the bottle and finished the remaining half in one go.

Wiping the corners of her mouth, she looked into the night and said, "Justin, I have someone I like. If I go to Soofareland, I might not have a chance with him. He won't wait for me for ten years."

Justin suddenly smiled and said, "Serena, perhaps when you become more outstanding, you will meet more outstanding people."

She looked at him, her gaze gradually turning bitter. After taking a sip of beer, she pursed her lips. "I'm your senior at school even though I'm younger than you. You're not allowed to talk to me in a didactic tone."

Justin smiled. "If he likes you too, he'll think of a way to go with you. Did you confess to him?"

She was stunned. After a while, she smiled. "I'll confess to him when I become more outstanding."

Serena stared blankly at the streetlights outside the window, which were moving backward. The gentle voice suddenly pulled her back from her memories.

Justin's hand trembled, and the car swayed slightly on the road. "What did you say?"

Serena secretly took a deep breath. "You used me as a shield this time, but what about the next time? Your father will still force you. Why don't you use our marriage to shut your father's mouth? What do you think?"

Justin felt that it was a little ridiculous. "How can I drag you down with me because of this? What will the person you like think when he finds out you've been married?"

"He... No matter what he thinks, he doesn't like me. Why should I put all my eggs in one basket?"

Justin turned to look at her. "Are you serious?"

"Of course. What do you think? Don't you think this is a good idea, Dr. Vance?" As if afraid that he would refuse, Serena added, "Actually, my family is also urging me. We're helping each other by doing so."

Justin looked at her again and said, "I'll think about it."
