Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 449

“Mr. Vaughn, what are you doing here?”

Harrison opened his mouth to speak, but a burning pain at his neck made even talking a struggle. “Are you with Leo?”

The bodyguards flashed their IDs. “Mr. Vaughn, please come with us.”

Harrison didn’t resist anymore. He walked toward them in silence.

Inside the hospital room, Selene’s strength gave out. She slid helplessly down the wall, her body trembling.

Carmel rushed from her bed to catch her. “Are you hurt?” she asked, her voice tight with worry.

Selene shook her head. Her hands were still curled into claws, numb and sore from how tightly she’d gripped the stethoscope just moments ago.

“That man… was it Harrison? I must have been dead to the world,” Carmel groaned, running her hands through her hair. Sharing a bed with Selene always knocked her out cold—she could sleep through an earthquake. Honestly, Carmel liked sleeping next to Selene for that very reason. The moment she held Selene, she’d fall asleep instantly.

Selene, on the other hand, was glad Carmel slept so deeply. If Carmel had woken up right away, there was no telling what Harrison might’ve done to her.

A nurse hurried in, concern written all over her face. “Miss Thompson, are you all right? You’re bleeding!”

She stared at the blood staining Selene’s lips. Selene could still taste iron at the back of her throat.

She shook her head. “It’s not my blood,” she said quietly. “It’s someone else’s.”

The nurse finally relaxed. “Thank goodness. I’m glad you’re okay.”

“Miss Thompson, this was our oversight.”

A group of bodyguards entered, bowing their heads in apology.

They’d been stationed at the hospital, but to give Selene some peace and quiet, they’d spent the night in the security room, watching the monitors.

Harrison had managed to slip past the cameras and sneak into the room, which was why they hadn’t spotted him until it was almost too late.

After brushing her teeth until her mouth felt fresh again, Selene asked, “Did you catch Harrison?”

One of the bodyguards nodded. “We have him in custody. Academician Vaughn gave strict orders—if anyone tried to disturb you, we were to detain them and report to him in the morning.”

Selene gave them a grateful nod. “Thank you. You can all go now.”

Once the bodyguards had left, Selene and Carmel curled up together.

Carmel gently cradled the back of Selene’s head, watching her closely. This time, she didn’t dare close her eyes.

“Would you ever consider coming with me to Morgania?” she asked suddenly, not quite sure where the question came from.
