Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 378

Someone approached and leaned in close to Harrison, murmuring, “Mr. Vaughn, Ms. Thompson would like to speak with you privately.”

It was Selene’s assistant delivering the message.

Harrison froze for a moment, glancing around, only to realize Selene had already disappeared from the room.

“Where is she?” he asked.

The assistant replied, “Ms. Thompson is waiting for you in the office outside. Please follow me.”

Harrison followed the assistant out.

Just a few minutes ago, in front of all those people, Selene had barely acknowledged him—she hadn’t spared him so much as a glance, let alone a word.

And now she wanted to meet him alone?

His breathing grew heavier at the thought.

Of course. That’s just like her—a woman who can’t settle on one man, always keeping her options open. She ignores him in front of Adrian, but then calls him for a private meeting, all the while avoiding Adrian’s gaze.

Selene’s behavior when it came to men never failed to astound him.

Maybe she’d divorced him just so she could finally live without restraint.

How could she do this? Juggling men left and right—Adrian, Carmel—they’d both fallen under her spell.

And who knew, during their marriage, had she ever cheated on him?

The more he thought about it, the more agitated he became. It was as if a heavy stone pressed down on his chest, making his heart ache and leaving him almost breathless.

The attendant opened the door and gestured for him to go in.

Harrison paused at the doorway, picturing how things might unfold. If Selene were willing to lower herself, to beg his forgiveness, then he’d make sure she cut things off completely with Adrian and Carmel.

Of course, she’d have to come back to him and atone for everything before he’d be willing to forgive and forget.

“Mr. Vaughn, please go in and wait for a moment.”

Sometimes, when you’re lost in your own thoughts, you just follow instructions without a second thought.

Harrison stepped inside. The door clicked shut behind him, jolting him out of his reverie.

He looked around, realizing the room was empty.

What had Selene’s assistant said again?

Selene wanted him to wait?

She’d called him for a private meeting, only to keep him waiting?

Was she deliberately testing his patience, trying to show him who was in charge?
