Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1961

"Rocco, show your hand first," Juniper drawled, resting her chin on one hand as she lounged on the sofa.

"Alright."

Following Rocco's nod, the beautiful dealer flipped the cards over one by one.

King, 10, 9.

The highest card was a King. No pairs, no straights, definitely no killer hand.

A very ordinary set of cards.

Next, the dealer revealed Juniper's hand:

2, 3, 4.

The lowest possible straight.

But compared to Rocco's, Juniper clearly won.

In the first round, she took in thirty million.

The staff pushed a massive pile of chips in front of her.

Juniper raised an eyebrow, smiling. Not bad at all.

Soon after.

The dealer revealed the hands for the second round.

Rocco had 10, 10, 5.

Juniper had 7, 7, 1.

Both had pairs, but his was higher.

He won the second round.

Since Juniper hadn't bet much, Rocco only made ten million.

Compared to the first round, he was operating at a net loss.

But it didn't matter. In the third round, he intended to take back everything he had lost.

"Round three. Show the cards," the dealer's voice chimed again.

"Wait."

Rocco suddenly interrupted, a light chuckle escaping his lips. "For this final round, let's make it interesting. We reveal them one by one."

"Works for me." Juniper shrugged. "The cards are right here. It's not like they can magically change."

Rocco choked slightly, nearly exposed, a fleeting trace of awkwardness crossing his face.

"Mr. Rocco's first card is the Six of Clubs. The opponent's first card is the Two of Hearts."

A smug smirk tugged at the corner of Rocco's mouth.

He already knew exactly what his hand was. As for hers...

Just seeing that Two meant she was doomed.

"Mr. Rocco's second card is the Seven of Clubs. The opponent's second card is the Two of Diamonds."
