Coralie didn't answer him immediately. Instead, she stood up and slowly walked over to the boy toy.
The boy toy inhaled sharply, holding his breath as he kept his chin tilted up, displaying his face perfectly for her to admire.
He hadn't just altered his face; he had obsessively studied Ari's mannerisms and voice.
Compared to Ari Lowell, they practically looked like twin brothers now.
Ms. Quill was going to be completely obsessed with him!
"Ms. Quill." The boy toy adjusted his expression, flashing a soft, gentle smile. "I even added an egg for you. Soft-boiled, just how you like it."
"You really did your homework."
Coralie stopped in front of him, slowly wiping the spilled coffee off her hand with a tissue. "You got plastic surgery, studied his mannerisms, and even figured out how I like my eggs."
The boy toy swallowed hard, a sudden wave of panic hitting him.
Did Ms. Quill like it or not?
"You put in so much effort. Should I praise you?"
Coralie tossed the tissue into the trash, her hand slowly raising toward his cheek.
The boy toy's eyes widened, and he eagerly leaned his face into her palm.
Channing watched in silence. He calmly picked up a disinfecting wipe from the desk and laid it flat in the palm of his hand.
And then—
*SMACK!*
A crisp, echoing slap rang out through the office.
"Ms. Quill!"
The boy toy's head snapped to the side from the force of the blow. Five stark red finger marks bloomed on his cheek as he stared at her in utter disbelief.
"Your biggest mistake was thinking you were clever by messing with your face."
Coralie held her hand out, and Channing immediately placed the disinfecting wipe into her palm.
"He would never, ever make that sickeningly desperate, fawning expression you just made."
"Go to finance, get six months' severance, and never let me see you wearing that face again."
Having dropped the hammer, Coralie turned her back to him.
"Ms. Quill, aren't you still completely hung up on Ari Lowell?"
Hearing he was being fired, the boy toy panicked and blurted out, "I only did this so I could look more like him!"
"What's wrong? I look just like him now! Shouldn't you be thrilled?"
Hearing those words, Coralie's entire body went rigid.
He was right.
