"Boss, hold on a second."
Channing stepped back to Coralie's side, freeing one hand to intertwine with hers.
"Mhm."
Coralie nodded slightly, her gaze fixed on the little girl.
The kid was remarkably adorable—big eyes, a cute little nose, and flawless porcelain skin.
Even while crying, teardrops clung to her long eyelashes.
She looked pink and round, like a fresh peach.
Absolutely precious.
"H-hello, pretty lady," the little girl stared at Coralie, hesitating for a few seconds before timidly speaking up.
Pretty lady?
Coralie raised an eyebrow, pointing at Channing. "What about him? What are you going to call him?"
The little pink dumpling sniffled, looking up at Channing. After a long pause, she mumbled weakly, "Hello, mister."
Mister?
Hearing that word, Channing's brow furrowed.
She called Coralie a pretty lady, but called him *mister*?
Wasn't that messing up the generational hierarchy completely?
"Hahahahaha..."
Beside him, Coralie couldn't hold back her laughter. She bent over, teasing Channing relentlessly. "It's definitely because you look so old, Channing."
Seeing her laughing so joyously, Channing swallowed his grievance without a hint of complaint.
"You have great taste. How about this lady buys you some cake, hmm?"
"Okay!"
Hearing the word 'cake', the little dumpling immediately reached her arms out toward Coralie, throwing herself into a hug.
"Oof—"
The embrace was so sudden that Coralie was caught completely off guard, her hands freezing in mid-air.
The pink dumpling cooed, "Pretty lady, hug~"
Her voice was sweet and soft, like she had been eating cotton candy, and she smelled wonderfully powdery.
Coralie froze for two seconds before instinctively wrapping her arms around the child's small body.
"I'll carry her."
