Though he was desperate to marry her and bring her home, he was even more terrified of scaring her off.

Before leaving, Hannah held onto Ebony Fox reluctantly, chatting with her for a while longer.

"Didn't I tell you not to call me Mrs. Schwartz and to call me Grandma?" Hannah feigned displeasure. "If you treat me like a stranger, this old lady is going to be heartbroken."

Ebony Fox lifted her gaze, shot a glance at Kurt, and changed her address. "Thank you, Grandma."

"No need for thanks!" Hannah's face bloomed into a radiant smile. "We came in such a rush this time, we didn't bring a welcome gift. Next time we meet, Grandma will definitely bring you something."

"You really don't have to go to any trouble." Ebony Fox was a bit overwhelmed. "I have everything I need."

"It's no trouble at all." Hannah waved her hand dismissively. "The Schwartz family doesn't have much of anything, except money. I have tons of rare and unique treasures at my place, I guarantee you'll love them."

"Honey, don't you agree?"

Suddenly being called out, Kent, who hadn't managed to get a single word in edgewise, nodded furiously. "Yes, yes, yes. If anything, we can just take her to the vault to pick whatever she likes."

"Now that's a brilliant idea." Hannah gave him a thumbs-up. "Then have someone tidy the place up so it'll be easy for our Ebony Fox to browse."

"You really don't have to," Ebony Fox muttered under her breath, but neither of them cared about her opinion.

The two elders chatted excitedly as they walked out.

Ebony Fox looked at Kurt helplessly and whispered, "You go tell Grandma to stop fussing over this."

"Me?"

Kurt pointed a finger at his own face, looking genuinely shocked. "My status in this family is unimaginably low. I have zero right to interject."

"Grandma and Grandpa love you. Just let her give you gifts." Kurt waved her over. "Come sit closer. Let's talk."
