Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1775

Miranda was passionately introducing her snacks, listing off which ones tasted the best and which ones wouldn't make you gain weight.

"This one! This chocolate one is so good, you wouldn't even notice if your husband dropped dead!"

Juniper: "?"

Hayden: "?"

Shanley: "?"

Miranda, listen to yourself. Is that really appropriate?

"Uh."

Catching the four sharp stares directed at her, Miranda froze for a couple of seconds before flashing an awkward but polite smile. "I just mean, it's super delicious. You know?"

"We know."

Hayden stared at his wife gently, his eyes brimming with absolute adoration.

Shanley pursed his lips, entirely unamused.

Sure, just keep spoiling her.

"Sweetie, and this potato chip flavor, I bet you've never tried anything like it."

Miranda was acting like a relentless door-to-door salesman, chattering away as she showed off her stash to Juniper.

Juniper's responses the entire time were:

"Okay."

"Nice."

"Oh."

"Ah."

Shanley let out an exasperated laugh. He stepped forward, ruthlessly breaking up the enthusiasm. "That's enough. Juniper can look at them when we get home."

"Right, it is getting a bit late." Miranda checked her watch and asked, "Why don't you guys stay the night at the estate?"

"I refuse!"

Shanley frowned instantly, pulling Juniper into his arms.

Every time they stayed at the estate, he ended up losing his wife to the women in the house.

Absolutely, entirely refused.

"Tsk."

Miranda crossed her arms over her chest, letting out a cold laugh. "Look at you being so dramatic. It's not like someone is going to kidnap her."

"Who knows?"

Shanley raised an eyebrow, tilting his chin toward his father. "Why don't you ask Hayden if he's willing to let you chat with me instead of going back to your room?"

"He—"

"I refuse!" Before Miranda could even finish her sentence, Hayden immediately stated his stance.
