Everything seemed to be stopped around them. The two wolves were looking at each other for the first time,
Both of them were wolves but different kinds. The green eyes were holding the power of magical charms, whereas the red eyes were holding the power of dominance.
Ava stepped back when she noticed the black giant wolf. His eyes reminded her of who he really was.
When she first felt the scent, she assumed it was Dane, her second chance mate.
However, she was shocked to discover that it was the same man who had previously rejected her as his mate.
How could Ian Dawson become her mate again?
She stepped backward as soon as she saw him moving one step toward her.
‘How is it possible?‘ she thought inside.
As if he could hear her through a mate link, he whispered,
“Mate, am I your second chance? Or you were always my mate?”
It seemed as though he did not believe it either. He was baffled. She was confused.
He had rejected her once. She could still clearly recall the pain it had caused her. In fact, her wolf was absent for a while.
Her eyes widened as she remembered what Abigail’s uncle told her.
“No one can save you.”
She blinked, unable to believe what had happened. Despite what that man had said, she recovered her wolf, and Ian was the one who healed her and returned her wolf.
She found everything very confusing. She was not sure what was going on. Why was fate playing tricks on her?
It had taken her three and six months to move on in her life and fix her mind to look at another man. However, why did fate make Ian her mate once again when she had already made up her mind to be with another man?
“Ava”
She heard his soft tone in her mind, which shook her insides. She felt like he was really close, talking near her ears. Her wolf refused to obey her commands and moved forward toward Ian.
Ava shut her eyes and tried to take over her wolf. There was no way she could let this man ruin her life again.
Despite her wolf’s hundred tries, Ava controlled her and said to Ian in the mind link.
“That’s impossible. I can never let you be my mate again.”
It appeared that Ian had lost control of his wolf.
His wolf eyes grew sharper as he stared at her. He raised his head and let out a howl.
The howl made Ava’s body jerk up. She immediately turned around and started to run in the opposite d

She kept saying it. She was losing her mind.
She felt pain in her legs from running so fast. She was chasing shadows with the moonlight following her.
Her heart started to beat fast, trying to run as fast as she could.
She turned her head to see if the black wolf was following her. There was no one behind her.
As she turned her head to look ahead, a giant wolf appeared out of nowhere and pounced on her.
She froze in shock.
Her body collapsed to the ground as the wolf’s weight collided with her.
Since she was in her wolf form, she growled at him. She tried to move him away by pushing him with her head. But he remained unmoved.
His red eyes were piercing as he growled.
“Mine.”
She froze while lying beneath him. She choked on her breath as he lowered his head to get close to her face,
He tilted his head and began to lick her neck.
Ava started to feel the same sensation that she always felt whenever he touched her. However, the sensation had become more intense and distinct. It was blissful and pleasant beyond expectation.
She whimpered and closed her eyes, indicating that she did not want to experience this sensation.
The way his tongue rolled down her neck over her white fur, she could not feel herself in a calm mind. Her wolf, which she had caged inside, wanted to take over for a moment just to submit to her mate.
The mate bond was a strange phenomenon. It could even submit enemies to each other and bring them closer together.
“Ian, let me go,” Ava said in her mind after composing herself.
He shook his head, hugged her wolf, and rubbed his head against her face.
“I love you, Ava. Why don’t you just forgive me for the past and start a new life with me?”
She was astounded by her words. (1
She then shoved him and pushed him with all of her strength. Her push knocked him to the ground near a tree.
She sat up and glared at him. She did not shift back.
She did not mind talking to him in her mind.
“Start a new life with you? I don’t love you.”
