Abigall was caught off guard. She quickly snatched her phone from Ronald and asked,
“Why did you ask her to go there? That room has been closed for years.”
Ronald took out his phone and did something, then looked at Ava, only to see her take her phone from her bag as she received the message.
He was worried that she would not go to that room if she saw Abigail in the hall. So he grabbed Abigail’s hand and said,
“Let’s go for a walk.”
“W–What?” she was confused.
Nevertheless, he dragged her out of the party and left before she could ask him any more questions. Meanwhile.
Ava took out her phone, but before she could check the message that had just vibrated her phone, Dane held her hand.
“I had no idea he had caused you this much pain. I am sorry for what you had to go through,” Dane said, kissing the back of her hand.
She blushed in response to his sweet gestures. She glanced away from him and mumbled,
“I feared you would be angry.”
He patted her hand before reaching for another drink. Drinks were piled up in the center of the counter. Since Dane had ordered one for him again, the bartender quickly placed his drink.
Dane gulped down his drink and returned his gaze to Ava.
“Why would I be angry with you?” he asked.
Ava bit her bottom lip, chewing it as she was lost to say anything. He chuckled at her behavior.
“Just say it.”
Ava had many things in her head for years. There were many new questions raised in her head tonight too. She wanted to learn them.
She gathered her courage and turned her stool toward Dane, facing him.
“Did Freya choose you when you were all children? What had happened that night?”
Dane paused, lowering his glass from his mouth. He tightened his brows, forming a frown line between them.
Ava noticed his eyes darting around before coming to a halt. She followed his gaze and found him looking at Freya.
Freya was also looking at him. Ava felt a twinge in her heart
Was she really coming between them?
But didn’t Dane say she was the one and only woman in his heart now?
“There was not much to say about that nigh

Ava interrupted him as she held his arm, turning him to her. Her actions took him by surprise.
She looked down at her hand, which was holding his arm. She removed her hand while mumbling.
“I’m sorry if you don’t like ”
He took her hand and replied,
“I like you now. That’s the main matter.”
His confession caused Ava to flush red. This man never talked like this in the past four years the way he started to talk to her now. It really felt like he was in love with her.
She felt warmth once again by his gentle touch.
“Dane, please.”
Dane lowered his head, gazing at her hand. His thumb gently rubbed the back of her hand, causing her to move her body slightly.
“This is not the right place. How about I tell you when we leave the party? Somewhere we can talk peacefully?”
Ava realized that he was right. She nodded and looked around, only to find so many people. How could they discuss his past when there were so many people around?
Her gaze drew to Freya, who was staring at Dane’s hand. Ava turned to see Dane caressing her hand. Freya’s gaze made her feel awkward.
“Okay, we will talk later,” she replied to Dane, slipping her hand out of his grip.
Dane did not mind and gulped down his drink.
Ava stared at Dane, remembering Freya’s words from the game. She claimed Dane was the one who had her cornered. Freya made it clear that it was because she had entered Dane’s life. Ava planned to ask Dane about it later. If it were true, she would be guilty.
She glanced at her phone and realized that she had gotten a message a few minutes ago. She unlocked her phone to check it.
She looked confused when she saw Abigail’s message.
‘Abigail asked me to go to a room?‘ she thought, glancing at the clock at the top bar of the screen. It had been ten minutes since she texted her.
She looked around the hall to see if Abigail had returned, as she could not go at that time. But she could not find Abigail.
She spotted Debra and Griffin. She was about to wave at her to ask her about Abigail but paused, thinking that Abigail wanted her to go there; that was why she sent her the text.
She assumed Abigail needed help with something, so she looked at Dane and said,
“I will be back in some time.”
Dane frowned and asked,
“Where are you going?”

Ava patted his shoulder and replied,
“Abigail needs some help, I guess. I will return soon; until then, please enjoy the party.”

After saying that, Ava left the hall while reading Abigail’s message again.
She tried to remember which room Abigail was referring to. The location was the old building
She shook her head while heading to the building. She grinned at the dorm students as she passed them.
