He gave her a nod before heading to his house.

Abigail’s phone rang right at that moment. When she received the call, her smile faded.

“It is fine,” she said as she ended the call.

“What happened?” Ava asked her.

Abigail looked around while thinking about it before replying, “My colleague can’t come tonight to accompany me as my partner. He got some work.”

Ava felt bad for Abigail. “It’s alright. You don’t need a partner.‘

“How about him? Isn’t it Beta Bruno? Are you free tonight Debra asked Bruno.

Beta Bruno appeared surprised when he heard Debra. Abigail glanced at Bruno before shaking her head at Debra to avoid the thought.

“I am free tonight. “If you want, I can join you,” Bruno offered.

Abigail was stunned. “Are you sure?”

He gave her an assuring nod. His gaze moved to Ava, who blinked her eyes. She looked at Bruno, wondering if he would mistreat her best friend.

“I will take care of her,” he stated.

It was a relief to Ava. She turned to Debra, who had already persuaded Griffin to go with her. After that, she smiled at them and then turned her attention back to Dane.
