Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover novel Chapter 1092

Grant wanted to leave.

But in the end, he couldn’t bring himself to go. He turned back and stood by Killian’s side.

“Dad, I’ll stay with you.”

Meanwhile, Chloe stepped out into a maze of twisting corridors. She’d always been hopeless with directions, but when she’d come down here, she’d forced herself to focus, mapping every turn and hallway in her mind.

That’s how she knew the way back.

Halfway through, the ground suddenly trembled beneath her feet. Dirt and dust rained down from above.

Just when panic started to take over, she heard someone shouting her name.

It was Connor.

“I’m here! I’m here!” Chloe shouted back, stopping in her tracks.

It didn’t take long for them to find each other.

The moment their eyes met, they rushed into a tight embrace, holding on like they’d never let go.

But the shaking didn’t stop. The tunnel felt like it could collapse at any second. There was no time to talk.

Connor grabbed her hand and pulled her forward.

As they ran, Chloe managed to gasp, “How did you even get down here?”

“We found the switch to a hidden tunnel. I came to look for you.”

“What about Grandpa and Master?”

“Your brother and the rescue team found them. They should be on the helicopter already.”

Chloe felt a wave of relief. She hadn’t realized everyone else had made it out.

But they were so far underground—how had her brother even found them?

It was pitch black—she couldn’t see a thing.

Chloe herself wasn’t hurt. She could even move a little in the small space Connor had made for her. But that only made her more afraid.

The silence pressed in on her, so deep she couldn’t even hear Connor breathing.

“Connor… Connor…” Her voice trembled, on the edge of tears.

It was so dark, she couldn’t tell if he was even conscious. She was lying in his arms, but the weight of the earth had trapped him.

Chloe was terrified. She didn’t dare move, afraid of making things worse.

“Connor… Connor…” she whispered, voice cracking.

Just as she was about to give up hope, she finally heard Connor’s faint voice, right by her ear.

“…I’m here.”
