Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover novel Chapter 1091

“If you keep talking like that, I’ll kill you.”

Killian couldn’t wrap his head around anything Chloe was saying. He just couldn’t. And he definitely couldn’t accept that his whole family had abandoned him.

He’d only been five years old.

His mother had loved him. She would never have left him behind. That belief had been the only thing keeping him going all these years.

But then his face changed. Because in the middle of all those dried-up corpses, he spotted a body.

On its wrist was a braided jade bracelet—his mother’s favorite. The craftsmanship was so unique, there hadn’t been another like it in all of Eldridge City.

It was hers.

Killian stepped closer, his heart pounding. He’d only been a little kid, but those memories were carved into his mind like scars. His mother’s dress—a deep navy blue, with golden and silver threads woven into intricate cloud patterns. At the collar, a ruby button so red it caught the eye, even now.

Most of it was ruined, but he could still see the traces of what it once was.

It was his mother. It was really her.

Killian started shaking all over. He couldn’t accept it. Did this mean everything he’d believed—every burden he’d carried—had all been for nothing?

Grant caught on that something was seriously wrong. He rushed to Chloe, pushed her toward the exit. “Go! Get out of here, now!”

Right then, Killian pulled out a gun and fired straight at Chloe.

“Mom… why did you leave me? Why? Why?” Over and over, he asked the question.

In that moment, everything he’d ever believed in shattered. Even the heaps of gold and silver around him felt meaningless—like dust.

And then, the whole vault started shaking. The ground rumbled as if an earthquake had hit. Piles of treasure crashed down. Stones and dirt rained from the ceiling. Even the huge stone doors began to slide shut, inch by inch.

Grant, wounded but alive, struggled to his feet.

“Dad, we have to go! This place is about to collapse!”

But Killian didn’t move. “I planted enough explosives here to blow the whole vault. At first, I was going to destroy it all after dealing with the treasure. But now, none of it matters. These riches shouldn’t even exist. So let it end. Let it all be destroyed.”
