So Wiona was back for Luna.
Allen and Janae turned their heads at the same time, meeting Wiona's steady gaze.
Janae’s heart pounded in her chest…
No, no one could possibly know the truth!
Allen suppressed his emotions and, supporting Paige, turned to Ryan with a deep frown. “I think I understand now. Your family is planning to pin the blame for Luna’s death on your mother?”
“Ryan, you are being incredibly foolish.”
“How can you trust some orphan who’s been gone for over twenty years instead of your own mother?”
“How could your mother possibly have anything to do with that?”
“And you, Ms. Morgan,” Allen said, his eyes narrowing as he took a step toward her.
“You really are something.”
“The moment you return, you turn the Blue family upside down and frame your own aunt, leaving her isolated and helpless. Are you deliberately trying to make an enemy of the Thompson family?”
“You even turned Ryan against his own mother.”
“What is your real motive for coming back?”
“You think you can mess with a member of the Thompson family? We won’t let you get away with it.”
Wiona met Allen’s menacing glare without flinching.
Her own eyes held a sharp, cold glint, like the edge of a blade.
“Good. Because I have no intention of letting the Thompson family get away with anything either.”
Allen was taken aback.
What did she just say?
Her? Against them?
Allen was not a man to be trifled with.
He had an intimidating presence, and most women would tremble when he turned a serious, threatening look on them. Yet she managed to appear calm and composed.
Was she just putting on a brave face, or did she truly have something to back it up?
