Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 720

When Luna left, most of them were just four or five. Their memories of her were so hazy, it was like trying to recall a dream that faded with the morning light.

The younger ones didn’t stand a chance. At one or two, their minds had been wiped clean, no trace of Luna left at all.

Wiona was just as lost as they were.

She’d seen photos of her mother. Honestly, aside from both being women, they didn’t share a single feature. Not the same eyes, not the same smile. Nothing.

She looked at the two elders in front of her. Maybe it was the blood connection, but she suddenly felt her nose sting, and her voice came out small and a little shaky. “Do I really look like my mom?”

Grandma Julia’s head bobbed immediately, her hand coming up to gently brush Wiona’s cheek.

“Your mother was only twenty when she passed. Such a beautiful age…” Her voice trembled a little.

“If she were still here, she’d probably look just like you.”

“Your features might not be exactly the same, but the second I saw you, I just knew. You’re Luna’s daughter. No one could convince me otherwise.”

“Wiona, we have finally found you. Please, don’t leave us again, okay?”

“We’ll give you all the love we had for your mother. Come back to us, to the Blue family.”

“I heard your adoptive parents left you after finding out the truth. You don’t need their surname anymore. Take ours. Blue suits you much better.”

“Wiona Blue… doesn’t it sound beautiful?”

“You’re part of this family. The Blue family’s legacy belongs to you as much as anyone. What was your mother’s is yours now. We’ll always keep it safe for you…”

Grandma Julia wasn’t even finished before a lady with puffy eyes stepped in, her voice gentle but insistent. “Mom, Dad, let’s not overwhelm Wiona.”

“She just got here. Isn’t this a bit much to drop on her all at once?”

“I know you mean well, but look—Wiona brought a guest. That gentleman over there… He’s a bodyguard, right? You’re saying all this in front of him…”

Bodyguard?

Wiona glanced back. Conrad, as always, was dressed head to toe in black. Sure, he looked serious, but to call him a bodyguard? That was just lazy.

She felt a rush of annoyance.

Conrad, on the other hand, looked perfectly at ease. He stood there, silent and calm, as if being mistaken for a bodyguard was just another day at the office.

Wiona knew he wanted her to see what the Blue family was really like, but she hated the idea of him being disrespected like this.

She was about to speak up when Mateo beat her to it. “Aunt Paige, you’ve got it wrong.”

“He’s not Wiona’s bodyguard. He’s actually her—”

Before he could finish, Paige cut him off, her face pinched with irritation.

Paige didn’t notice. She seemed almost proud of herself for stepping in.

Give a share of the Blue family fortune to this girl? Why? Their side of the family only had one son as it was. Now some random girl pops up and wants a slice of the pie? Who did she think she was?

Luna was dead. Why couldn’t she have just disappeared completely, instead of leaving this stray behind to mess everything up?

Paige was fuming inside.

Grandma Julia’s face darkened when Paige spoke up. She was about to snap at her, but Wiona reached out quickly, taking her hand to stop her.

“So, you’re Aunt Paige.”

Wiona’s voice was soft, almost airy.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Wiona.”

Something about the way she said it made Paige’s heart jump into her throat.

There was something about this girl… something sharp and uninviting.

When her eyes met Wiona’s steady gaze, Paige felt a shiver run down her spine.

It reminded her of the first time she’d met that man, all those years ago…
