“Tch, genius artist Miss W? Please. She’s so overrated. The only reason she’s famous is because someone powerful is backing her. Her paintings? Nothing special.”
“Seriously, what a joke. It’s just a bunch of clueless people watching rich folks play their games.”
“Oh, please. Who’s this jealous troll trash-talking our W?”
“Miss W was already famous at thirteen, okay? Back then, Mr. Sullivan hadn’t even inherited the Sullivan Group!”
“Do you even know what it means to be a prodigy at thirteen? When you were in middle school, did you have a classmate who was already shaking up the art world? Your voice probably hadn’t even dropped, and she’d already made her mark. Just admit you’re jealous. The art world’s experts don’t get it, but you do?”
“People who are jealous just can’t stand that exceptional people attract other exceptional people. What’s so wrong with Mr. Sullivan being with Miss W? He’s amazing, and so is she. They’re a perfect match.”
“Seriously, Miss W is making us so proud!”
“I can’t with you die-hard W fans. She gets a bit of fame, snags the head of the Sullivan Group, and now you all think she’s unstoppable? Just wait. The moment he loses interest, your precious Miss W will be tossed aside, and no one will care anymore. What’s so great about her then?”
“Oh, come on. Are you just here to hate? If Mr. Sullivan was really that kind of playboy, why hasn’t he had a single scandal all these years? With his status, if he goes public, it’s a big deal, not some casual fling. Stop spreading rumors.”
The internet was in chaos. And then, out of nowhere, the man himself showed up.
Conrad logged on and posted a tweet.
“Miss W and I have always been together. Thank you all for your support. We hope to see you at our wedding.”
The internet exploded.
So did Wiona.
Conrad, what are you doing?
He just went public, just like that?
Her heart pounded so hard she thought it might jump right out of her chest. She grabbed her phone to check the time, and everything went fuzzy for a second.
Wait… This was posted last night!
Unbelievable. He actually did it without saying a word to her. Not even a little warning.
What was she doing at the time?
Wiona thought back… Oh, right, she’d just jumped into the pool.
And when she’d gone over to him, Conrad had been on the phone.
He didn’t say a thing about it then. And now here she was, the main character in this entire drama, only finding out on the internet that her relationship had been announced to the world.
It wasn’t that she minded being public. Honestly, that part was fine.
But still, he could have let her know first, right?
She felt totally blindsided.
Wiona made up her mind—she was definitely going to punish him tonight.
And even if they found out, it wouldn’t matter. The Salisbury family’s statement had made it clear—she and Jace were long divorced.
No one could question her children’s parentage now. With her and Conrad going public, the kids’ existence made perfect sense.
Thinking about all this, Wiona decided she would reward Conrad when he got home.
He deserved it. He’d handled everything perfectly.
Wiona smiled and turned to Annette. “How about we celebrate tonight?”
“Let’s celebrate Conrad and I finally setting a wedding date.”
“It’s about time this big event was on the calendar.”
That night, Wiona slipped into that special nightgown again.
This time, Conrad sat on the sofa, fully appreciating the view. Over and over.
He decided this was his favorite reward.
After that, Wiona threw herself into her work at Cassian K. ART and her painting.
At home, besides spending time with the kids, she started working out.
Whenever Conrad had time, he personally trained her—teaching her how to shoot, how to wrestle, some basic self-defense, and how to fight back if she ever needed it.
