Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 661

On the other side of town, as soon as Phil got the address, he shot Mason a quick call. “Mason, I just sent you the location. Grab your guys and head over.”

After he hung up, Phil drove straight to 8 Peace Road. The moment he stepped into the courtyard, he spotted Conrad, already holding Wiona’s phone.

“Sir,” Phil greeted him, bowing his head a little. “You’re back.”

Conrad, knowing Wiona’s passcode, unlocked her phone like it was nothing.

“What did she tell you to do?” he asked.

Phil replied, “She said if her phone was left behind, we should send the message she drafted to Bronwen. Five minutes later, send Bronwen her location. Wait another five, then call Wilson.”

Conrad nodded, understanding what needed to be done. His fingers flew over the screen, sending out the messages just as Wiona had planned.

When he was finished, Conrad slid into his car. “Let’s go. I want to see just what kind of show my wife’s putting on this time.”

At the hospital, Wilson was having one of his meltdowns again. Ever since his hand was amputated, he’d become a completely different person.

“Get out,” he yelled. “All of you, just get out.”

He glared at Bronwen. “What are you even doing here? You think now that I’m crippled, you can control me? That I’ll never leave?”

He sneered. “Bronwen, don’t flatter yourself. You can’t control me. I’m still free. My soul, my body, all of it. I’m not some charity case for your family and I don’t need your pity.”

“Get out!” he shouted, grabbing the glass of water beside his bed and hurling it at her.

Bronwen stumbled back, panic in her eyes. She wasn’t fast enough to dodge, so she covered her head and squeezed her eyes shut, bracing herself for the hit.

The sharp sound of shattering glass rang out, but the pain never came.

Slowly, Bronwen opened her eyes. Someone was standing in front of her, blocking the blow.

“Nicholas?” Her voice was shaky, surprised to see him there. He must’ve shielded her with his back. Otherwise, she’d be the one hurt.

Nicholas glanced back at her, his eyes full of hurt. “He treats you like this, and you still stay by his side?”

“I told you, we’re just friends. I’m going to pretend I never heard what you said today. Please leave.”

Nicholas looked hurt. “You mean that? Bronwen, everything I said was for you. Even if I let go of my feelings, as your friend, I have to tell you, you need to leave him. He’s draining the life out of you.”

“He’s just not worth it.”

Bronwen cut him off. “That’s enough. Nicholas, you don’t get to meddle in my life. This is my choice. It’s between me and Wilson. Don’t you think you’re overstepping?”

Nicholas took a shaky step back, hurt flashing across his face.

He hesitated, then tried one last time. “So you think I’m just interfering? Bronwen, we’ve known each other thirty years. I’ve always supported every choice you made, except when it comes to him…”

Bronwen raised her voice, not letting him finish. “I don’t like you, Nicholas. Haven’t you figured that out? You can’t force feelings.”

“Don’t ruin the last bit of friendship we have left.”
