Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 660

Her mom’s keepsake was worth more than nine million? Yeah, right. That thing was probably worth ninety grand at best, and here she was trying to pass it off as nine million. Who did she think she was fooling?

And that pendant… Was it possible her dad had given that to the other woman?

Louisa narrowed her eyes. If that was true, there was no way she’d let Wiona walk away. When they reached the destination, she’d make sure to get back what belonged to the Ferguson family.

“Fine,” Louisa said through gritted teeth. “You better hope I don’t catch anyone tailing us. If I do, you’ll regret it.”

Once again, Louisa had lost this round to Wiona, but she couldn’t let it go. The frustration burned inside her, refusing to die down.

She jumped back into the car. Wiona made a show of hesitating, dragging her feet before finally getting in, looking as unwilling as possible.

The moment the doors shut, Louisa hit the gas, sending the car flying down the road. Wiona clamped her eyes shut and grabbed the handle above the window. “Louisa, I really don’t want to die with you…”

Louisa’s voice was sharp with anger. “Shut up!”

“I’m not planning on dying with you either.”

They kept arguing as Louisa sped onto the overpass, weaving in and out of traffic, passing every car in sight. It was obvious they were heading out of the city. Wiona forced herself to close her eyes and breathe, trying to stay calm. Nikolai and Drake had to be following. Mason and Phil were already in place, waiting for the signal. Everything was going according to plan—as long as this lunatic didn’t wreck the car, Wiona would make it home tonight.

She sent a silent prayer up. Half an hour later, she was doubled over by the side of the road, emptying her stomach.

Louisa just scoffed, left the car outside a village, and strode across a stone bridge, heading toward a cluster of houses.

Wiona pinched her palm and patted her cheeks, trying to shake off the dizziness. She’d never been carsick before. Louisa, you really missed your calling as a race car driver.

After a short break, Wiona finally managed to catch up.

Could his secret hideaway really be here, hidden out in the country? Neither Wiona nor Conrad had thought of that at first.

As she got closer to the village entrance, Wiona heard Louisa speaking to an old woman. “Auntie Billie, if you see any unfamiliar cars stopping at the entrance later, can you give me a call?”

Wiona raised her eyebrows. Louisa was way more careful than she’d expected. She was still on edge, still worried someone might come after them.

Wiona could only hope Nikolai and the others would be able to read the situation and not give themselves away. And now that she’d arrived at their destination, Phil should be making his next move.

Louisa looked up and saw that Wiona’s face hadn’t changed. She was starting to believe that Wiona really wasn’t up to anything.

“Let’s go,” Louisa said, leading the way into the village without looking back.

Wiona followed silently, glancing at the old locust tree by the entrance. The group of elderly people sitting beneath it stared at her with milky eyes, watching her like she was a meal they’d been waiting for.
