Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 639

Jasmine looked at Wiona, her eyes full of hope.

Wiona just sighed. She’d already brought Jasmine here. What else could she do?

“Let’s go upstairs,” she said.

Dealing with Jasmine, her adoptive mother, always left Wiona feeling a little stressed. She couldn’t cut her out of her life completely, even if she wanted to. Still, she knew that letting Jasmine get too close would only make things messier, so she tried to keep a polite distance.

Madison was different. She and Jasmine were truly related by blood. After missing out on a mother’s love for so many years, Madison found it impossible to resist any bit of warmth from Jasmine. She ran toward it, even if it meant getting hurt again and again. No matter how many times she was burned, she kept coming back for more.

As for Wiona, her heart had already been crushed by the Morgan family. People could call her ungrateful or heartless if they wanted. She wasn’t going back. But Madison had shown up with Jasmine, right at her door…

“Here, Mom, have some water.” Wiona set a cup in front of Jasmine, her voice polite but distant.

Jasmine’s eyes were red as she grabbed Wiona’s hand. “Wiona! Are you still mad at me?”

“It’s all my fault. I was too weak, I had no backbone, and I hurt you.”

“I know I was wrong now, I really do. Please, don’t shut me out.”

“Just give me one more chance, okay?”

“I know you’re not my real daughter, but I raised you for over twenty years.”

“You might not be my flesh and blood, but that doesn’t matter. You and Madison are both precious to me. Even if you don’t want to call me your mom, can’t you just let me see you once in a while?”

Wiona didn’t know how to respond. She glanced at Madison, but Madison was just standing there wiping her tears, completely moved.

Wiona thought, Typical. No help at all.

She forced herself to keep calm and slowly pulled her hand away. “You’re a guest here. I’ll never forget the kindness you and the Morgans showed me, raising me all those years.”

Her cold and distant words seemed to break Jasmine. Jasmine covered her face and tried to stifle her sobs.

Madison looked like she wanted to say something, but then she remembered everything Wiona had been through and stayed quiet.

“Mom, don’t cry,” Madison said gently. “Let’s just take it slow, okay?”

“If you cry, you’ll only make Wiona feel pressured.”

Jasmine paused. Maybe she really was worried Wiona would hate her for being so emotional, so she choked back her tears, even though her eyes were redder than ever.

Wiona glanced at her, then looked away. “If you have something to say, go ahead.”
