Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 605

What kind of trouble?

Wiona heard the words and her heart skipped, but she couldn’t bring herself to ask right away. Cassian clearly hadn’t caught everything, and if she said anything now, he’d just get more worked up. She tried her best to act normal.

Once Conrad hung up the phone, Wiona turned to Cassian. “Cassian, we found Summer.”

“Don’t worry. We’re going to bring her back.”

Cassian squeezed Wiona’s hand, his voice thick with emotion. “Wiona, thank you. I’m really useless. I’m too old and I keep making you worry. Every time something happens, it’s you who comes through for me. I’m so lucky to have you.”

Wiona tried to reassure him. “This is what I’m supposed to do.”

“Cassian, you’re the only mentor I’ve got. Please, take care of yourself.”

“We’ll be back soon.”

Conrad left two people behind to stay with Cassian, help with the hospital paperwork, and keep an eye on Scott just in case. Then he and Wiona rushed off to the address Peter had sent them.

It turned out to be a hotel. Not just any hotel, but one owned by the Sullivan family. Wiona’s stomach twisted with nerves as they headed up to the presidential suite.

When they reached the top floor, the hallway was a mess. Stuff was scattered everywhere. Peter and a few others stood guarding the door. Wiona noticed they all had scrapes and bruises.

She asked quietly, “Did it get physical?”

Peter nodded a greeting to both Conrad and Wiona before explaining. “He brought backup. But he didn’t expect us to have more people. And this is Stonehill. There’s no way he was going to take someone off our turf, right under our noses.”

He paused, his face shadowed, voice dropping. “Mrs. Sullivan, Ms. Kutz isn’t doing well. There’s nothing we can do for her right now. She needs you.”

Wiona hurried inside. Conrad waited outside with the others. She closed the door behind her and took in the scene.

The suite was trashed. Broken glass everywhere, ornaments smashed on the floor. What really made Wiona’s heart ache was the torn, shredded women’s clothing scattered all over.

She tiptoed deeper into the suite, stopping at a bedroom door that was shut tight. “Summer? Summer, it’s me, Wiona. Can I come in?”

There was a long pause, then a shaky voice, thick with tears. “...Come in...”

Wiona pushed the door open. The room was even more chaotic. Blankets and pillows thrown everywhere. The bed was a mess. Wiona’s heart sank; she already knew what had happened.

“Summer, do you want to call the police? We can have that bastard arrested.”

But Summer’s face was hopeless. “He still has Leo. And he’s from the Tucker family. The police can’t touch him. What matters most is my kid.”

Wiona squeezed her hand. “I’ll help you. Whatever it takes.”

Summer’s voice was desperate. “Wiona, please… I know I’m a mess, but I have nowhere else to go…”

She looked so lost, like she’d been pushed past her limit and had no idea where to turn.

Wiona said softly, “You’re not alone. I promise I’ll do everything I can. But first, you need to get out of the water or you’ll get sick. Come on, let’s get you dressed. Please, trust me.”

Summer nodded and climbed out of the tub, shivering. After wrapping herself in a towel and letting Wiona gently dab ointment on her wounds, she curled up with a cup of hot tea, slowly starting to come back to herself.

A short while later, Peter and the others brought in fresh clothes.

“They’re already ironed. Mr. Sullivan noticed your clothes got wet, so the white dress is for you.”
