Dear Ex-Wife, You Are MINE! novel Chapter 168

MAEVE LILY...

"Theo..." My tongue rolled against my will. I wanted to get close to him but stopped in the next second,

"What are you doing here?" His tone filled with abhor.

I looked back at those brown orbs. His icy gaze shook me from the inside. The disdain he has for me still hurts like the first time. Years passed and my softness toward him never decreased though he hates me now.

But he wasn't like this from the beginning. We used to be friends during our childhood. The first time I stepped into this mansion, I was alone, distant from my father. Other people ignored my existence. However, Theodore didn't.

He came to me, played with me, and soon became my only wish. All I wanted was to be with him. Love knocked on my broken heart expectedly and I began to dream to fly with him.

Then a day came. A very unexpected and unpleasant day in my life when my dreams shattered in pieces. He came in front of me holding hands with Alyssa.

Alyssa, my stepsister. A year younger than me. Originally, my father's illegitimate child, yet tables had turned because her mother owned the fortune. Now, I am the unwanted one.

I could never forget that day. Still, I hoped to not lose him as a friend, burying my wishes of flying with him, I chose to become the supportive one in his happiness instead.

However, he did not give me that chance either. He became someone I wasn't used to. He turned to a new person. A cruel one who did not hesitate to use harsh words to me.

I don't know the reason for his despise against me. I always wanted to ask but couldn't. He never allowed me to get close since then and avoided me as if my presence haunted him.

Still, I tried to be around him, which only tormented me and soon I left to live with Grandma, building the hard wall between us. Since then, whenever we met, he remained silent and cold in my presence.

"I..." I lowered my gaze. This would degrade my existence in his eyes further. Well, the damage is already done. "I was here to..."

"Beg money from mom." A voice chimed in, cutting my words.

Yeah, of course. She needed to be here right at this time. She had always been like this.

I raised my head and watched Alyssa walk toward Theodore, smiling. She stood so close to him, almost clinging and holding his hand.

My heart ripped shamelessly. I didn't know a heart could be broken again and again. Even though I did expect nothing from Theo, my heart wasn't in my control.

I watched her planting a kiss on his cheeks and looked away. I shouldn't be envious of their happiness or think about them. I have more important things in my hand. My First priority should be Grandma.

As I was about to walk away, I heard, "She wanted money from mom to save her worthless grandmother. You know Theo, she even blamed my mom as a killer when mom asked her to give her some time!"

I paused, and my eyes snapped at the decisive liar. How could she? Did that really happen inside?

Alyssa seemed not to care about my stare and continued, "She even tried to hit Mama, so we chased her out. Didn't we do the right thing, baby?"

My lips parted to argue, when,

"Of course, you're right. She deserved that." Theodore's tone was void and cold.

My thoughts changed and my lips pursed. There was no point in talking back. He chose his way and believed her words. No matter how hard I tried, he would never count my words.

"Mom is waiting for you." Alyssa pulled his hand, "Come inside!"

Without another glance my way, Theodore followed Alyssa inside.

"Only a hoe can give birth to another. Your shitty mother seduced Dad to climb on his bed, didn't she? No wonder you collect your skills from her. You wanted the same from Theodore."

My head snapped at her and I glared. I would except trash on me and I did for years without retorting but not my mother or grandmother. How dare she!?

The winning smirk on her face ignited the fire in me which I was trying to suppress my hardest.

"What? Offended?" She stepped toward me. Her blue eyes gazed at mine, turning me mad. "Accept the truth, Lily. Your mother was a whore. Now you're turning into one. Who trained you? Your that shitty grandmother on her deathbed?

"Alyssa!" I pulled her by the collar as my teeth gritted. I wanted to hit her so badly, yet I controlled and pushed her away from me. "Not a single word..." I warned her.

She laughed. "What? Can't wait to hit me? Heh! You could never touch me! You shameless whore!" She pushed my chest, making me stumble. I managed to balance.

"Dare to touch me? Huh? Try again, bitch!" She pushed me again and this time, I got hurt. She scratched me. I tried to dodge, but still couldn't manage fully and the skin near my collarbone burned.

"What? You Don't dare? But, I do!" Alyssa forwarded it again. What the fuck does she want from me!? Why is she doing this!?

This time, I managed to push her away from me. However, her feet were imbalanced and she stumbled back, falling into the swimming pool. Immediately I grabbed her hand and so did she, trying to hold her fall.

I was about to pull her up when she suddenly pushed me and fell in the water, willingly... I froze. Dumbfounded at her sudden action, until,

"Alyssa!" Theodore's roar pierced through the cold breeze of the night.

And I realised the very reason for her willing attempt.
