LEO...
Is it even a time to go out? Didn't she remember what happened this evening? Fuck!
I scratched my neck, feeling disturbed. Kept watching time again and again. It's almost Midnight and that woman is out of home! Does she even care for her security for once?
I am stressed! More because I am worried about her when I shouldn't be! I mean, she is practically a stranger, but still, I am drawn to her.
What happened this evening was proof. I have no memory, no particular known situation nor I am aware of my skills. I should have stayed away from those men and the most I could do was run away with her when she proposed. But, I didn't.
My blood boiled when I saw the fear and helplessness in her eyes. It felt like I could rip the world apart who dared to hurt her. Those hazel eyes were pleading for salvation. In that moment something stirred in me and I wanted to keep her safe.
I don't know if those guys were her enemy or some random teasers. Whoever they were, they shouldn't cross my path again. Though facing them opened a side of me I was unaware of. My fighting skills. No doubt, I am trained which raised a question within.
What was my job? Was I a bad guy or a good one? Ughh! My head hurts!
I lay flat on the bed. I should have followed her. What if she is in trouble again at this hour? We can't even connect through phone calls!
I frowned. I needed to ask her to buy me a phone. Of course, I am her responsibility and she needed to serve!
I got off the bed and started pacing in the room. Who allowed that delicate woman to be a reporter? A fucking crime reporter? What was she even thinking in her little head!? How did her family allow that shit!?
Looking out of the window once, I sighed again. One thing I have realised these days, I am not at all patient when it comes to this woman. Something about her keeps me on my toes.
This might sound ridiculous but I am filled with her only! Perhaps, because I know no one apart from her at the moment, still it does not justify my situation fully.
I moved the quilt aside on the sofa and was about to sit when the silver thing caught my attention. Laptop... Sitting there, I kept it aside First.
However, my mind itched to see it and soon curiosity grew in me and I opened it. As expected, it's locked, demanding a password.
I wanted to close it and put it down. Don't want to hear her nag once she finds out. But... I looked down at the keyboard. Suddenly, something snapped in me as I moved my fingers on key pad.
And I continued. I couldn't stop even if I wanted to. I kept going on which followed a few dots and that's it... I cracked the password.
It took me mostly a minute to get in, but that's not the case. I just discovered a new part of me tonight again. I can hack. Though it's ridiculous to find out how easy and careless her password was. I also could be a moderate hacker, still it does not change the fact.
First, my fighting skills and second, I can hack a system. Who the hell am I? A cop? Detective? A high-profile criminal, related to mafia groups? Or, what!?
Immersed in thoughts, I went through her laptop randomly. There were only work documents and nothing else. All her case studies.
My eyes travelled down,
'5th October, 20**. Grandma gifted me this laptop. Though I never asked for it from her, she guessed my desire somehow. This is why I love her so much. My sweetest Grandma.'
Grandma? I muttered in my head, recalling Mrs Johnson's words from before. 'Poor girl, she needs to work harder to take care of her grandmother.' Though I did not ask much then, I am curious now.
Seems, her grandmother is alive. Then where is she now?
Thinking, I scrawled further to read.
'My result is out today! I have been selected for my desired company! I will be a crime reporter soon! Grandma is so happy! I'm sure, mom is proud of me too...' A pause, then continued again, 'Should I let him know too? Would he be happy?'
The 1st page ended here, making my frown deeper. Who is that 'he'? I wanted to flip to the next page, when,
'beep~beep~beep...' Something vibrated on the sofa, startling me. What the fuck!?
The vibration started again as I searched the resource of it and finally caught the culprit under her pillow. Immediately recognised the black thing, Lily's phone!
That woman did not only leave the house at this hour, she forgot her phone! Danm careless!
