Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2152

Elsa had been looking forward to this camping trip, secretly hoping for a chance to tease Athena. But with Athena nowhere in sight, she found herself stewing in frustration.

“Tyler, could you give me Athena’s phone number?” she asked. “Back in high school, a teacher asked me to pass her a letter, but she disappeared off the face of the earth and never kept in touch with anyone. I’ve been holding onto that letter all these years.”

Without giving it much thought, Tyler rattled off the number.

Elsa and the others headed out for the camping trip—Bert included—leaving only Tyler and Athena behind at the estate.

Tyler, who usually thrived in a crowd, started to regret his decision to stay behind after just a couple of hours. The house felt empty and dull. Athena hadn’t wanted to go in the first place—why hadn’t he just let her be? Now he was stuck here, bored out of his mind, and slightly annoyed at himself.

Catching up to the others was out of the question at this point, so Tyler loitered downstairs for another hour. It was then that Athena finally came down from her room.

She looked pale, her expression set as she strode past him without so much as a glance, heading straight for the front door.

Tyler frowned—she was still recovering from her injuries, and the sight of her pushing herself made his temper flare.

“What are you doing now?” he snapped. “Can’t you just stay upstairs and rest like a normal person?”

Athena didn’t even acknowledge him, just kept walking toward the driveway.

His car was parked outside, but she didn’t bother with it. Instead, she started down the path toward the road winding away from the estate.

“Athena!” Tyler called after her, his patience wearing dangerously thin. “What is your problem? You really planning to walk down the whole hill by yourself? Do you honestly think I’m that easygoing?”

Athena stopped and turned. Her eyes were ice-cold—Tyler had never seen her look at him like that before. Usually, she was deferential, eager to please, as if she couldn’t live without him.

Now, though, she looked at him as if he were a complete stranger.

“You—” he began, but she cut him off, shoving past.
