Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2141

He always thought Tyler was joking. People have their dignity, right? No matter how much you like someone, if you see Tyler cheating time and time again, you'd think they'd give up. But here was Athena, calm as ever.

Bert picked up the cigarette from the ground and tossed it into the nearby trash can.

"I can't help you right now. He's not going to be done anytime soon, and I've got to go. You'll have to wait here," Bert said.

He wasn't the type to listen outside doors. He just wanted to chat with Tyler for a bit, but within minutes, Tyler was already fooling around with another woman.

Athena smiled at him. "Alright, I'll wait here then."

Bert didn't know what to say, so he just gave a half-hearted smile and left.

The bathroom door opened an hour later. No matter how clean this place was, it was still public, and it wasn't exactly the best setting for passion.

Tyler stepped out and immediately spotted Athena sitting on a chair.

She was resting her chin on one hand, staring out the window, lost in thought.

A Tupperware container rested on the table beside her.

Tyler paused, thinking he must be seeing things.

The woman who followed him out slowly raised her hand, wrapping it around his arm.

"Tyler."

Tyler felt a pang of discomfort and shook her hand off.

The woman looked surprised but recovered quickly. "I'll get going then."

"Yeah."

Tyler lit a cigarette, unusually unsure of what to say to Athena.

Feeling a bit irritable, he took a drag and finally asked, "What are you doing here?"

"I brought you some soup. It's got some herbs in it."

"I don't need it."

"Well, if you ever do, just let me know."

Tyler didn't know what nerve she hit, but he snapped, "Athena, are you dense? Can't you see I'm annoyed?"

Athena lowered her head, staying silent.

Tyler took a deep breath and yanked her up from the chair.
