Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 408

“You have no proof!”

Tricia’s shout echoed through the conference room, shattering the gentle, understanding image she’d always displayed among her peers.

Charlotte just smirked. “Everyone in Team A knew that report had been withdrawn—except Team B. So, whoever from Team B tried to use it now, isn’t that the person who leaked it to Nolan Pharmaceuticals?”

Tricia froze, staring at the faces of Team A. Not one of them looked shocked or surprised. If anything, they all seemed prepared for this moment.

Realization dawned, bitter and sharp. She let out a short, incredulous laugh.

She’d walked right into their trap.

“Oh, Charlotte, you’re more calculating than I ever gave you credit for!”

Charlotte’s voice was cold and flat. “Compared to you? This is nothing. I never went after you, but you’ve tried to set me up time and again. If I hadn’t been careful this time, wouldn’t I have fallen into your trap yet again?”

Senior management called for security to escort Tricia to the police.

As the guards approached, Tricia struggled. “I’m Professor Aldridge’s student! Who do you think you are?”

At that moment, Professor Aldridge himself arrived, frowning as he took in the chaos. “What on earth is going on in here?”

Tricia broke free and rushed to his side. “Professor! Please, help me!”

Before he could say a word, Old Mr. Carstairs spoke up, his voice calm but resolute. “The research Nolan Pharmaceuticals published—they got it from her.”

Professor Aldridge stared at Tricia in disbelief.

Tricia shook her head furiously. “No, that’s not true—!”

“Mr. Carstairs, are you sure you’re not mistaken?” Professor Aldridge sounded almost desperate.

Charlotte interjected, her tone clinical. “If there’s any doubt, I’m sure Nolan Pharmaceuticals will soon realize their results are flawed—and then they’ll be calling her.”
