CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1842

“Be careful,” Wilfred whispered, his voice carrying a barely noticeable tremor.

Karina leaned into his embrace and said softly, “Thank you. I was too careless.”

They proceeded cautiously down the corridor and arrived at a room filled with ancient books and peculiar instruments.

Curious, Karina picked up a dusty old book. As soon as she opened it, the faint sound of gears turning echoed in the room. Slowly, a stone table emerged from the center of the floor, revealing a complex puzzle box resting on top.

Karina studied the puzzle box carefully, noticing that each piece was engraved with unique symbols and patterns. She tried fitting a few pieces together but couldn’t make sense of it.

Meanwhile, Wilfred searched the room for other clues and discovered an ancient mural in one corner. The mural depicted several figures gathered around a similar-looking box, seemingly performing some kind of ritual.

He examined the gestures and expressions of the figures in the mural and suddenly had an idea. “Try arranging the puzzle pieces in the same sequence as the gestures in the mural,” he suggested.

Karina followed his instructions, and sure enough, the puzzle box began to react. When the final piece clicked into place, the box opened on its own, revealing a glowing key inside.

Karina picked up the key, her excitement evident. “This must be the key to the final stage!”

Wilfred nodded slightly, a faint smile on his lips. “We’re almost there.”

They continued exploring the escape room, solving several cleverly designed puzzles along the way. Their teamwork became increasingly seamless, as if they could read each other’s thoughts.

In a passageway lined with infrared beams, Wilfred gently wrapped an arm around Karina’s waist, guiding her gracefully as they maneuvered through the dangerous lasers. Karina felt the warmth of his strong arm and was filled with a sense of trust and reliance.

Not far away, a girl stood watching them. She unconsciously tightened her grip on the milk tea in her hand, her eyes full of frustration.

This girl was one of Wilfred’s former patients. She had always believed that she was the perfect match for him and had dropped numerous hints about her feelings, but he never seemed to notice.

Now, seeing Karina and Wilfred sharing such a tender moment filled her with bitterness. Gritting her teeth, she walked straight toward them.

“Dr. Wilfred, what a coincidence! I didn’t expect to run into you here,” she said with exaggerated enthusiasm, though her gaze lingered on Karina with a hint of hostility.

Wilfred frowned slightly but responded politely, “Yes, it’s quite the coincidence.”
