Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 346

Terrance’s expression was icy as he realized Cynthia had no intention of wasting time on small talk. He cut straight to the point.

“You wanted me to buy shares in VistaSphere Group last time, didn’t you? I can help you. I can make you the majority owner of VistaSphere Group.”

Cynthia didn’t so much as flinch. “I’m already the majority shareholder of VistaSphere Group.”

Terrance pressed on. “Maybe you are, but as far as I know, Father Benedict has far more influence in the company than you do. Most of the board and upper management are his people.”

Cynthia turned her chair, facing him squarely. “Looks like you’ve done your homework.”

Sensing a sliver of interest, Terrance continued. “If I buy up more VistaSphere shares, we’ll be on the same side. Together, we could push Benedict and his cronies out. You’d still call all the shots, while I’d just take a small stake and a share of the profits. Also, I’d want Roland to have a position in the company. How does that sound?”

Cynthia shook her head. “Not interested.”

Terrance clenched his jaw. “I’ll buy the shares and give you five percent, free of charge. Consider it compensation for the years I’ve let you down. Is that enough?”

She shook her head again.

Terrance’s patience snapped. He glared at her. “Then what do you want?”

A faint smile touched Cynthia’s lips. “You’re too late. The VistaSphere shares have already been sold.”

His face fell. “Sold? To who?”

Cynthia sighed lightly. “That’s confidential. I can’t tell you.”

“When I asked you to work with me, you refused. The moment Father Benedict found out who you were talking to, he wasted no time—he found someone else that very night and bought up the shares before I even realized what was happening.”

Terrance’s jaw tightened in disbelief. He hadn’t expected Benedict to move so fast.

Cynthia watched his retreating back and couldn’t resist twisting the knife. “You got played, Dad. Benedict ran circles around you.”

She didn’t stop there. “After all these years, you still haven’t learned a thing. No wonder Grandpa never trusted you with Tremaine Holdings.”

Terrance spun around, glaring at her with cold fury.

Cynthia’s tone was merciless. “Dad, maybe you should quit while you’re ahead. If you keep gambling with the inheritance Grandpa and Grandma left you, Georgette might just take your precious son and walk out for good.”

The words must have hit home—Terrance stumbled on his own feet, nearly tripping as he stormed out.

Cynthia watched him go, cold satisfaction on her face.

One day, she thought, she’d see him get exactly what he deserved.
