Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 311

There was no way Jocelyn would let Miranda go up there and interfere between Dominic and Cynthia.

Without hesitation, she grabbed Miranda’s arm.

“Miranda, why don’t my brother and I take you home? I doubt Nick is heading back to Holloway Manor tonight.”

Miranda tried to shake her off, but Jocelyn clung to her even tighter, locking their arms together.

Garry chimed in as well.

“Let us give you a ride.”

Jocelyn nodded emphatically. “A ride’s a ride, right? Besides, Nick clearly has somewhere to be—he isn’t even listening to you. Look, he hasn’t heard a word you’ve said.”

Miranda stared at her, speechless.

How had she never realized just how annoying Jocelyn could be?

Meanwhile, the driver spotted Dominic carrying Cynthia out of the winery and hurried to open the back door.

Dominic bent down to settle Cynthia onto the seat, but before he could, she stirred in his arms and nuzzled closer to his chest.

That affectionate gesture caught him off guard. For a moment, it felt like a feather brushed across his heart—his arms even trembled slightly as he held her.

In her dream, Cynthia and Dominic were already married, living in perfect harmony. The man in her dream doted on her, his every thought revolving around her happiness. So when she opened her eyes and saw Dominic’s face, she was still half-lost in that dream. She murmured softly,

“Honey…”

Dominic froze, and the restlessness he’d felt moments before seemed to vanish completely.

Honey?

He gave a short, cold laugh, his expression hardening as he lowered her onto the seat.

The motion jostled Cynthia awake. She blinked in confusion, her head spinning. Realizing she was already in Dominic’s car, she relaxed and closed her eyes again, drifting back to sleep.

Dominic slid into the car, his face stormy.

Cynthia, however, acted as if nothing had happened. She promptly fell into a deep sleep, and, finding the seat uncomfortable, shifted until she was sprawled out—using Dominic’s thigh as a pillow.

Driver: “……”

Through the rearview mirror, the driver saw the mess on Dominic’s trousers and quickly averted his eyes, silently praying for Cynthia’s well-being.

“Pull over,” Dominic ordered, his voice cold and clipped.

The driver immediately stopped at the curb.

Is Mr. Holloway really going to toss Miss Tremaine out?

“Mr. Holloway…” The driver risked his job to try to calm Dominic down, but before he could finish, Dominic had already opened the door and scooped Cynthia up in his arms.

He’s really going to leave her out here?

The driver scrambled out of the car to intervene, but before he could say a word, he saw Dominic carrying Cynthia toward a nearby hotel.

Looking up at the sign, the driver realized they’d stopped at a Holloway family property.

Dominic kept a private suite here, one not open to the public.
