Sebastian's voice was incredibly cold. "Give me one reason why I should help you."
Joanna hesitated. "I... saved you!"
Her voice lacked any real conviction.
Sebastian curled his lip into a sneer and hung up the phone.
He turned off the living room lights and went upstairs to bed.
Joanna sat in her room, staring at the disconnected call on her phone as tears streamed down her face.
Sebastian was really done with her.
She screamed in fury, "Sebastian, why didn't that fire burn him to death? Why didn't that car crash kill him?"
"And he was saved by Natalie both times! Why is that bastard Sebastian so lucky? And why is it always that woman, Natalie, who gets to save him?"
"Aargh!" Joanna shrieked, on the verge of a breakdown.
She took a deep breath, then picked up her phone and dialed a number.
"Joanna, why are you calling me again?"
Joanna was already furious, and that question only made her angrier. "Maxwell, didn't you say you had someone arranged to seduce Sebastian? How come there's no news at all? He doesn't trust me anymore. He says his debt to me is paid, and now he won't have anything to do with me. Just come back. Find a chance to kill him and take his place. The entire Griffith family will be ours. Besides, Uncle is helping you behind the scenes."
"Joanna, I know you're having a hard time, but now is not the right time. Sebastian has several major projects overseas that are proceeding smoothly. The best time to strike is after he gets that money. When that happens, I'll team up with some people to take him out. Then I can marry you properly. Just bear with it a little longer. I've already made the arrangements."
"Since he doesn't trust you anymore, go to his biggest rivals. I don't need to tell you what to do, do I?"
