After recording the video, Yvonne turned to leave.
Just as Natalie looked up, she caught a glimpse of a figure hurrying away. The person's back looked somewhat familiar.
She quickly walked over, opened the door, and saw Yvonne rushing off.
She was confused. What was Yvonne doing here?
It suddenly hit her—Yvonne had found out about Zenobia.
Natalie hurried back into the room and said to Zenobia, who was now bent over in pain, “Zenobia, I just saw Yvonne. I think she knows you’re pregnant.”
Zenobia sneered. “Let her find out. This child is mine, not your brother’s. Even if he finds out, it has nothing to do with him.”
“Natalie, you have to help me. If Joanna finds out, she’ll definitely try to get rid of me and the baby. She was the one who set me up last time.”
Natalie comforted her. “Zenobia, it’s too late to switch hospitals now. Why don’t we stay and see what she’s planning?”
Zenobia looked worried and shook her head. “Natalie, no. I can’t risk my child’s life. I made the decision to have this baby, and it has absolutely nothing to do with your brother or the Scotts. I’ve seen your brother’s true character. He’s not just blind, he’s heartless and has no integrity.”
“If it weren't for Joanna’s scheme that night, I never would have been violated by your brother and gotten pregnant. But since this child came into my life unexpectedly, I won’t abandon him. As a mother, I have to protect my child.”
“If he dares to try and take my baby, I have evidence from that night. I’ll sue him for rape.”
Zenobia’s tone was icy. She had already planned her countermove.
She would never forgive Jerome, and she would certainly never love him again.
She had completely given up on him the day she moved out of the Scott family home.
She would not give Jerome another chance to hurt her.
Natalie squeezed her hand and smiled. “Zenobia, I’m here. I won’t let anything happen to you. Don’t worry, I’ll stay with you the whole time.”
With that, Natalie left the room and found a doctor on the floor. Money talks.
