Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 304

York was utterly stunned, frozen in place as if someone had pressed pause on his life.

Sure, Beasley had told him before that there was no chance between him and Rosa, but York had always assumed that just meant a romantic relationship was off the table—nothing more. Now, Beasley’s words made it painfully clear that he and Rosa weren’t even friends. Not really.

“Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?” York finally managed to ask, after staring at Beasley in disbelief for a good while. “Even if you two only met because of me, you’ve known each other for over a decade. Back in college, you even said she’d make a great—”

Beasley cut him off with a wave of impatience. “Seems to me you’re the one who forgot his meds this morning.”

York stared at him, speechless.

He was just trying to reason with him, and this was the response he got? Beasley was really off his game today, biting back with such uncharacteristic sharpness.

“When I used to discuss marriage arrangements with you, it was no different from the countless times I’ve analyzed stock trends for you,” Beasley added, his tone casual but his words cutting even deeper.

York was at a loss for words.

“But Rosa’s an incredible woman,” York blurted, unable to hold back his frustration. “Are you saying she’s not even good enough to be your friend?”

In York’s eyes, Rosamund was as close to perfect as a woman could be. If it weren’t for their complicated family ties, he would’ve married her himself—cherished her, protected her, never let her suffer even a moment’s hardship.

But as soon as York said “incredible,” an entirely different face drifted through Beasley’s mind: Willow.

He remembered his mother telling him last night that Willow had gotten into Kingston University all on her own—no favors pulled, no strings attached. She’d gone on to say that every birthday gift Willow had given the family since the wedding was personally designed and custom-made by Willow herself; each one was unique in the world.

And Willow was STAR—the acclaimed novelist behind sci-fi classics like Sudden Dawn.

The more Beasley thought about it, the more his heart raced.

Willow really was exceptional.
